Excerpt: I was planning on purchasing the Dell 2410 but it was discontinued when I was ready to buy it, so, I opted for the 2412. I was worried that having a smaller color gamut would hinder photo editing but since the vast majority of my work is in black and white I pulled the trigger with the knowledge that I could return it. After calibrating the monitor with the syder 4 pro I am very pleased with the monitor. It's well built and the four usb inputs are a definite plus.
Summary: This monitor is OK, but the anti-glare coating is so heavy that smallish text is TERRIBLE, as in terribly chunky and with ghosting. I tried everything to make it the best it could be. My other monitors render text much better. When I put the same window of text across two monitors, it is clear (no pun intended) that this monitor is substantially worse.
Summary: I was completely amazed at how crisp and clear this monitor is. I have an old U2412M on my desk, probably one of the first made. The one I just got for my Dell XPS-8500 desktop at home is just stunningly beautiful, so much better than the old one at work. It's SO easy on my very weak eyes and movies look just incredible on it.
Summary: I bought this item today, I spend 4 hours to calibrate my monitor's colors. But the white color is yellowish even in 7900K!. When I cool down to 9600K, yellowness mixes with the cool blue and white seems greenish. I called the dell support, they claimed that this is not a technical issue!
Summary: Pros: The display quality and price (on sale) are great. Cons: It doesn't want to work with my KVM switch, so I'm looking into a workaround. Also, the bottom bezel (or the screen) is bowed toward the center, so it creates a thin-thick-thin-appearing Windows screen edge across the bottom. Since I work with straight lines all day and am AR, it catches my eye and bugs me.
Excerpt: I am very happy with my purchase of this monitor. Can't beat the price for what you get IMO. e-IPS technology gives you brighter, richer colors than a typical TN panel for a bit less than a true IPS monitor. But the big thing for me is the resolution. I don't like the common 24" 1920 x 1080 monitors because they seem to short in height in ratio to the long length. But with this one (1920 x 1200) you get over an inch in height. Highly recommended!
Excerpt: Great screen, its the 2nd for me. I'm working in GFX and for me this screen is great. Connecting is very easy, I use macbook pro retina and using the thunderbolt to DVI cable. Great feature is the extra 4 USB.
Summary: I have had two of these on my desk in a dual-monitor setup for two years now. First, the positives: The colors are far more accurate than TN monitors. The 16:10 aspect ratio is the sweet spot for productivity. The negatives: The anti-glare coating gives the display a sparkle effect that makes it look dirty all the time. White does not appear to be a solid color. Other reviews complaining about the anti-glare are spot-on.
