Summary: The picture is very sharp and bright. The print is easy for me to read. This is a replacement for an older Dell extra-sharp monitor and is even more clear and brighter. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it.
Summary: this is a really great screen and looks superb, I only bought this more expensive model because it's was the cheapest that was VESA mount capable. But I am pleased with how good it looks and it's color correctness.
Summary: I bought two of these bad boys after coming from a 28" ViewSonic monitor that was 16:10 aspect ratio. If you look around the internet for monitors that are 16:10 ratio, very few choices come up. Fewer still come with the ability to adjust 8 different ways (up, down, left, right, tilt forward, tilt backward, spin left, spin right) These monitors are pricey. Why? The panel is high quality. The stand is high quality.
Summary: This is the highest ranked monitor I've owned so I'm not certain if their direct competitors are just as good or better. I compared this monitor to my existing one (just an LCD...) side by side and I wouldn't believe the difference if I didn't see it for my own eyes. The color was much more rich, better contrast, and even small details like the clarity/crispness around edges was far better (I did spend time trying to configure my existing monitors settings).
Summary: A superb upgrade from standard monitor to IPS without breaking the bank. I'm sure it's nothing in the league of the $1000 IPS monitors but what a difference for photo editing for me! I highly recommend this for photographers!
Summary: UltraSharp is exactly the right name for this lovely monitor. My old eyes were doing OK with a 4-year-old 20" Dell monitor, but a new XPS computer deserved better. The improvement in clarity is a blessing to my old eyes, and this monitor is precisely right for my work. And, I appreciate the immediate turn-on because of LEDs, a nice change from the old slow warm-up of the trusty old Dell monitor. This is a perfect mate to a top-performance Dell XPS computer.
Summary: Peformance of this monitor has been excellent. Unfortunately, perfomance with the DisplayPort connection has not been. On first DisplayPort cable (DP to DP) when resuming from suspend mode (Thinkpad in dock) the monitor could only be recognized correctly about one out of every three times. When not recognized correctly, the system resorted to a generic monitor at VGA resolution. Not pretty in a 24" monitor.
Summary: What they forget about is input lag, and in a recent review of this monitor, it blew away the two "faster" TN panels it was up against- negating the slower response time. I have gamed on this monitor and everything looks awesome. And bigger. And sharper. And with way better color.
Pros: Excellent build quality
Cons: None. Gamers will look at the single-sided spec of "response time" (8ms) and claim that's too high. How did these guys ever game five years ago??
Summary: I finally bought one of these. For a long time, these Dell Ultrasharp monitors were pretty expensive. I had wanted one of these when the 20" ones were their flagship model. Now you can get a 24" Ultrasharp for a mere $300!! My previous monitor was a 20" (1650x1050) widescreen by Samsung. This U2412M is so much bigger! I love the 1920x1200dpi resolution!
