Summary: I love my new Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" LED LCD Monitor. In less than 20 minutes, I took the monitor from the box and had it up and running with my MacBook Pro. I linked the new monitor with my MacBook using the white DVI cable that comes with the monitor and my existing Display Port to DVI cable. When I hit the power button on the Dell monitor, immediately my desktop appeared.
Summary: It is unfortunate for those of us who use a computer for business purposes (I program) that the industry has decided that 1080 lines is enough. It is not. Finding a 1920x1280 monitor is getting hard these days. I finally had to retire my 6 year old Acer 1920x1280 monitor as the back-light finally kicked the bucket. I was skeptical about buying a Dell as they do make some low-end monitors that are really poor. I was pleasantly surprised by this monitor.
Summary: I actually did not even buy this monitor from amazon, but i was removing it from my wish list and thought i'd write a quick review. This is a great monitor. I personally hate 1900x1080 resolution monitors. I really don't like how they look so I've been trying to find a good 1900x1200 resolution at a good price for awhile. This is it,it has good reviews across the board for a reason. Mine had zero dead pixels, super bright and responsive, and the viewing angle is great.
Summary: Pros: 1920x1200, pivot stand, IPS, and all its other advertised features. Colors are fantastic. Cons: Slight light bleed on the bottom left and right corners radiating out 3-4 inches. Noticeable only in dark environments in games and black pictures. Turns the black shiny black/gray even with the brightness down to 30 out of 100. Conclusions: Buy it. Pros outweigh cons but I absolutely hate light bleed. Nearly impossible to get an LCD/LED without any. I miss the CRT days!
Summary: I would give this product a half-star higher rating if I could. It was extremely easy to set up and the multiple adjustments are perfect for me (I am very short so it's good that I can bring the monitor to a low height). However, the picture is really not as sharp as I would think "Ultra Sharp" indicates, although I suppose you get what you pay for.
Summary: The Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" LED LCD Monitor - 16:10 ...is about as flawless as anything I've ever purchased. No issues. No problems. Looking at 23" and 24" monitors in the stores doesn't prepare you for this thing -It's really huge on your desktop. At 1st the the images didn't fill the screen horizontally more than 70%,,, i did all the trouble shooting w/ no success. Then i dropped the resolution 1 step down from the default of 1920 x 1200.. and it filled the screen.
Summary: Was getting severe headaches using a H**anspree 22" monitor - heavy business and spreadsheet user. This IPS monitor is fantastic and worth every penny. Text is super sharp, colors faithful and contrast is excellent. Have now used for 2 full days without a headache. Clearly a high quality piece of equipment. Strongly recommend.
Summary: I needed a new monitor for editing photos. I read a lot of reviews and chose this model over the more expensive U2410. Why? Because this monitor is all most dedicated 'amateur' shutterbugs need. It is one of the few affordable 24" e-IPS 16:10 monitors out there. The 16:10 allows you to use the entire screen. 16:9 monitors do not and the extra real estate is wonderful. I also bought a Datacolor Spyder 4 Express for calibration. Works great. Prints are excellent.
Summary: The picture is very sharp and bright. The print is easy for me to read. This is a replacement for an older Dell extra-sharp monitor and is even more clear and brighter. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it.
Summary: this is a really great screen and looks superb, I only bought this more expensive model because it's was the cheapest that was VESA mount capable. But I am pleased with how good it looks and it's color correctness.
