Summary: I have two of these at work side by side. Prices have really come down over the years. My only beef is that I have not been able to configure it to be a second monitor for my Dell Laptop especially when logged in to GoToMyPC. Still waiting for my IT folks to tell me how to do this.
"Coating creates sparkling look - not good for office"
23 February 2012
Pros: ISP panel plus 16:10 aspect ratio.
Cons: The anti glare coating gives the monitor a sparkling look. This is especially annoying when reading text. I run this monitor next to a 27 inch imac. The low picture quality of the Dell monitor becomes particularly apparent in such a setting.
Summary: This is the second monitor of this type I bought from Dell. Overall I thgink Dell products are a good value, certainly less cost than HP. This monitor replaced an eight year old 15" Dell monitor that died. I guess I can't complain as it was in constant use for those eight years. Hopefully this second 24" will last at least as long.
Summary: The product is very vibrant and they weigh so, so little. That is what I was so impressed with. Being so light and thin, they can be easily setup in an triple configuration on a 3 x 1 stand. I bought the Ergotron model and they fit perfectly. They also don't weigh down the stand!
Summary: I purchased the Dell UltraSharp U2412M to use for my work. I work as a graphic designer and the U2412M proved that it could accurately display rich colors. Assembly and calibration was very easy and only took a few minutes.
Summary: As others mentioned, the anti-glare coating is pretty aggressive. If I sit back from the monitor, I don't notice it too much, but if I'm close to the screen (less than 2 feet), I do. It is especially noticeable with white background and looks like a grid.
