Summary: I bought this monitor because it was an appropriate size for my desk and was listed at a good price. I had bought this after reading the review, "Registration With Dell!!!" on March 19, 2013, which gave the details on how to register the monitor for warranty.
Summary: I really wanted to join the 5 star bandwagon on these which is the primary reason I ordered two of them. Having some Dell panels that are many years old now I assumed these would be quality monitors.
Summary: Talking about the monitor itself it is the older A00 version that a lot of people say has problems. I don't have a lot of monitor nowhow so it looks ok to me. The colors are nice but when the screen is black there is a lot of uneven lighting.
Pros: The monitor has nice colors and works. It can also be flipped vertically.
Cons: Heed this warning and those of others. I can only hope that my monitor doesn't break because if anything happens to it I know I won't be able to get any warranty or support without a service tag which you can only get by buying directly from Dell. Without a service tag I can't register the monito...
Summary: Most games look great, but when the bleed is noticeable it's really bad, which ruins anything good about this monitor for me. It seems like buying these online is a game of monitor roulette, some people get almost no bleed, some aren't so lucky.
Pros: Looks great when displaying colors other than black. No noticeable input lag or ghosting when gaming.
Cons: The backlight bleed on this monitor is absolutely ridiculous. It makes anything dark completely unwatchable. Even with normal light levels in the room anything black like a dark scene in a movie or video game, or a dark desktop background has light beaming out of 3 of 4 corners of the panel.
Cons: Dell is shipping A00 version monitors/ these are known for their severe yellow tinting. Was unable to calibrate to acceptable standard. Entire purpose of an Ultrasharp monitor is the colour accuracy. This one, the A00 version, fails, completely.
I will never buty another Dell Product-No Dell Warranty unless purchased from Dell directlyi

Summary: Like I said go to the Dell website and pretend you are gong to register a Dell monitor bought from Newegg . Try it before you purchase it and good luck!
Pros: Good monitor with USB 2.0 hub
Cons: You cannot register any Dell monitor for warranty coverage unless it is purchased from Dell without a lot of hassle (took me over 2 hours of demanding, begging, and pleading). One Dell rep told me I should not have bought it from a "3rd party". Before buying a Dell monitor go to their web site an...
Pros: From taking it out of the box, it was defective. It would just go black. Checked all cables, changed cables etc. Put another monitor on and it worked fine. Replugged the Dell and it would work for a few hours and same thing. Bad experience. I have used Dell monitors and computers for years and ne...
Cons: This monitor I received is "A00", someone mentioned on other site that there are "A01-A06". (He/She also said the later one are much superior). Maybe that's why made me feel this monitor is about the same as another brand mon I had which costs half the price.
Dell is currently shipping A00 revisions instead of A06
12 April 2013
Summary: I bought one of these in Summer 2012; its manufacture date is July 2012 and it's an A05 revision. I bought one last week (April 2013) and it's an A00 revision made in December 2012. Which means Dell has parts lying around from the ORIGINAL revision and is now shipping those.
It is a Dell - Not an Lacie or NEC Pro-Grade alternative.

Summary: If you are wanting an IPS monitor to do professional or semi-professional grade design and graphics...do not buy this monitor! Save your money for a monitor you will be happy with.
Pros: Made a great target!
Cons: Not worth it if you are in to doing any type of professional editing. The backlight bleed is terrible and the viewing angle is not even there. I will not even go through returning it as it is too much of a headache. I now have a sour taste from getting monitors online. Now I will only buy sight o...
