Terrible for graphic design, decent for everyone else.

Summary: I'm a graphic/web designer, and I use this model at work for 7-8 hours a day. Color and shading is godawful on this monitor. Anything displayed at the top of the screen is going to appear significantly darker than it will when it's at the bottom. Fill the screen with pure grey, and it'll look like you've applied a gradient to it. If you're a graphics professional, steer clear. I guess it's a decent cheapo monitor for everyone else.
Summary: The Dell P2411 monitor is slated for the "professional." I have the U2410 on my desk at the office and purchased the less expensive P2411 for my home office. If you are any graphics field where color accuracy is a concern, I would look at the higher priced U2410, which is a true Pro level monitor, including all the input connections and color space required for graphics, video or CAD work.
Summary: Sorry about being a bit nitpicky, but since when is a TFT monitor considered "professional?" You move your head around and the image black level changes drastically. There's a reason why a "professional" uses a more-expensive display technology, such as VA or IPS--rock-steady images from ANY viewing angle.
Summary: This product was exactly what we needed. The Portrait ability is awesome because some applications just need more height instead of width to see all the information and this monitor does that.
Summary: I purchased this monitor as a replacement for an older 19" flat panel. I can't say enough about how awesome this monitor is. It performs flawlessly for steaming video, watching TV (via Slingbox), games, using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc... The controls are easy to use, the edges are consistently bright and black is black (once you adjust the brightness/contrast). I hardly pickup my notebook anymore because I have chosen to use an external keyboard & mouse all the time!
Excellent Long-Lived Monitor (if you don't need HDCP)

Summary: PLEASE READ: This review was originally written in 2010 or '11. It was written solely for a Dell 2405FPW, and HOW INTERESTING IT IS THAT IT NOW (MONTHS LATER) FINDS ITSELF REFERRING TO A DIFFERENT DELL MONITOR - PLEASE NOTE: I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR P2411H MONITOR AS I HAVE NEVER OWNED ONE. SOMEHOW, MY REVIEW FOR A 2405FPW WAS MOVED AND ASSOCIATED WITH THE DELL P2411H. PERHAPS OTHER PEOPLE'S REVIEWS WERE MOVED AS WELL.
Summary: The Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24 inch LCD Monitor is the bast monitor Dell has produced. A crisp resolution of 1920x1200 make it pair perfectly with the high-end Macbook Pro as a secondary monitor (or primary). This is a VERY well built monitor as I have owned 6 for more than 4 years with no issues at all. I put about 10x more hours on them than my LG plasma TV and my Sony LCD TV and both have been service since. Why Dell discontinued this model I have no idea.
Summary: I have to say I am far from being a professional, and I hope anyone who is reading will take this into account. I bought this monitor the very DAY it came out, and I also bought the HP LED monitor as well. I can say that the overall presentation of this monitor - is great. I know that many companies fail big-time to put much thought into the bezel - but it makes a huge different on the overall way you FEEL about the monitor.
