Summary: As of today I've owned this monitor for a few months. There's a few things I should specify before you read the review. This is a secondary monitor I'm using in Portrait for Chat, Web, music, and sometimes video beside gaming. I have been a proud owner of high end Dell monitors for 2 years. I own two of Dell's U2413 monitor for use with my workstation, and those are gorgeous with a few flaws.
Summary: I have a computer with 2 iput video ports VGA and HDMI. I tried to connect the purchased monitor as DVI-> HDMI and I failed. Whole screen was blurry and flashing. I start using it as secondary monitor, by connecting with VGA cable, and my old monitor perfectly works with DVI ->HDMI connections. First, I thought it was a broken monitor and returned to the seller, but when it was sent me back it failed as before. Everything rest works fine as expected.
Summary: It is becoming harder and harder to find a 4:3 aspect ratio display. In order to have the same vertical height as this 19" display, one would have to purchase a 24" wide-screen display (at a minimum). I like the tilt, swivel and pivot features and also the ability to adjust the height. Being a LED display, it is very energy efficient.
Summary: I needed this for my art program which is an older version program and widescreen versions make the work field to small. Very nice easy set up, perfect for my application. Highly recommended! My wife works for a larger insurance company an she loved he Dell, this one like hers has a great up and down and tilt feature.
Summary: The market is FULL of larger, widescreen "HD" monitors, however there is still a place for this type of aspect ratio (resolution of 1280x1024). Widescreen HD monitors may be great for eliminating black bars when watching movies but who watches movies all day? I find them not so good for working with Office apps like Outlook or Word/Excel. I have mine set to portrait mode and use it as a second screen for Outlook (my primary is a 30 inch Dell).
