Summary: I agree with most of what other people have said about this monitor, that its a good, but not great monitor, that sells for a decent price. When mine was working I was pleased with it. However I recently had some problems with mine and found that Dell did not assign a "service tag" to this piece of hardware. This makes it pretty much impossible to receive any sort of online tech support.
Summary: As was pointed out in previous reviews, this monitor has sever color issues. A co-worker and I both recently got this monitor, and are not satisfied. The default settings are horrible. And even using a color calibration device only somewhat improved the colors. Still have sever problems with light gray colors and you have too look at the monitor absolutely straight, any change in your viewing angel will decrease the color accuracy further.
Summary: I guess this is an ok monitor if color accuracy of any kind is not required. When I say color accuracy I don't mean matching pantone or having a calibrated display, i mean this monitor is not capable of displaying a gray background on scroll or tool bars. It renders gray as olive / reddish green out of the box / default and after two hour of trying to get a consistent gray (monitor setting and fidgeting around with the graphics card drivers) i gave up...
Summary: This LCD monitor is easy to set up and works out of the box. Colors and brightness look reasonable. On the face of things there should be no complaints .... but ... The monitor display is very sensitive to the video mode used and does not always display different resolutions in the way you would expect. As I work with photographs I can not accept distortion in the displayed image and all available options with my 2-year old Dell notebook lead to distortion.
