Summary: I bought this to replace an ancient, ailing Apple Studio Display for a 13 year old G4 PowerMac, so my expectations were modest. I am very happy with the purchase. This is an inexpensive monitor, extremely easy to set up; the display is bright and has a reasonably good viewing angle.
Summary: I suspect that there simply is no XP driver available but that was too much for DELL to confirm
Pros: Monitor was fairly inexpensive and arrived quickly
Cons: No drivers for XP. I contacted DELL but after 45 mnutes chatting and calling I was rejected because I didn't have the service # or order number handy. It seems the Model # and Serial # isn't enough for DELL to help a customer. Make that a former customer
Summary: not recommended, it works but the display (after adjustments) is not good enough.
Pros: 3 years warranty, very basic screen, reminds me a long 15".
Cons: Poor color and contrast, low quality product as day to day using the screen. I use it mainly for clients that wants to save money, and wants Dell as brand name. There are many screens that are better, in the same or higher price range
Pros: Seems to go on sale fairly frequently. fairly slim, light. Resolution is IMO appropriate to monitor size. Above-average colour.
Cons: Doesn't do full 1080. Semi-misleading title says it's 20" but it's actually 19.5" which is fine because it's listed in the specs. I zoomed through that detail while I was purchasing though since it was on sale -- probably wouldn't have changed my decision to purchase though.
Summary: Bought this for my in-laws on sale vs another entry level monitor, very pleased to get a Dell, shipped, for under $100. Boxed up very well (typical Dell...) but very little actual screen protection...one poke in the box would wipe the screen.
Pros: Very sturdy stand... you can't park a truck on it, but it's much better than some of the others at this price point. PnP, out of the box. Comes with both type cords and power plug (no DC adapter!) I had it out of the box, on the desk and rolling in about 3 minutes. Easy adjustments with physical ...
Cons: Even though it's backlit, it's still kind of dim; I had to pump up the brightness quite a bit. Decent picture but a little 'grainy,' if that makes any sense (vs my normal premium brand monitor, same size/resolution.)
