Summary: The only supported 3D modes are 1920x1080 at 100 and 120Hz, and this only on the DVI inputs. There is no support for 3D on the HDMI inputs, so it cannot be used to watch 3D movies, or to play 3D console games! How can they call this a gaming monitor? NVidia's cards support 3D play for older games going back many years, but with this monitor those games can't be played in 3D, because older games did not have a 1080p (or even 720p) mode.
Summary: As I was afraid of it came with a dead pixel. Looking around the internet and reading the reviews I knew there was a good chance it would have a few dead pixels. The company that sold it was difficult and slow to return it(they wouldn't exchange it) so I decided I could live with one dead pixel. Come on BenQ, your products are world famous among the computer gaming scene. You need better quality control for the price you charge.
Summary: This monitor is fantastic!! I already have the 24 inch version which I love and now use in portrait mode as a second monitor. I wanted a bit more size since I've had 27 before and found it to be just right so I grabbed this one. It has zero issues, just as perfect as my 24 inch. No this is NOT IPS so don't expect it to look like one. This is a great gaming monitor and IMO nothing can replace 120hz for me.
Summary: Giving 4 stars because I've only had it 2 days. Will revise later. I've been considering this monitor for over a month but hesitated due to some of the negative reviews. Mine was in perfect condition when received. No dead pixels. Great color out of the box. Better than my Asus VE278H. All of the physical adjustments i.e. height, swivel, tilt, are very fluid. The picture adjustment is intuitive.
Summary: I love everything about this monitor, except the image quality. OSD menu is amazing, S-Switch is amazing, sharpness and clarity are amazing, even the color reproduction is tolerable...but, what's killing me is the checkerboard pattern I see on moving objects that have light colors. I see it in video games, movies, even just moving a browser window around on my desktop. I see one other reviewer reported a "screen door effect" I wonder if this is the same issue.
Summary: This is the best monitor for gaming, period. For first person shooters 120 fps makes a huge difference over 60 fps -- do not listen to anybody who says otherwise. This monitor has an amazing refresh time and the black equalizer is awesome. Also the S switch allows you to quickly switch profiles from your desktop profile to one of 2 other gaming profiles with a click of a button. The monitor UI to change settings is very easy to navigate and use.
Summary: Overall I love this monitor. It's not as pretty as the higher resolution IPS models, but the fast response time, 120hz refresh rate, and slick design make it a great buy for FPS gamers. Physical Design The monitor looks very professional - no garish lights or logos you find on some gaming equipment. The stand feels very sturdy and is easily put together. It's easy to adjust the height, angle, and orientation of the monitor.
Summary: It's a great monitor. The quick switch pad thing is great so that I can have my monitor brighter in the morning when the sun is streaming through the window, but I can switch it to darker in the evening with just a touch of the button.
Summary: I didn't realize how bad the viewing angles were on TN panels. I've always had IPS panels. They say 160/170 degrees for the angles but contrast and color tones shift at about 10-20 degrees. That is probably the worst thing about this monitor. If you are keeping your head stationary while using it, everything looks fine after some calibration. The monitor is incredibly bright. So bright, that it hurts. I currently have brightness down to 5.
