Worth it

Dakota D., Newegg
28 July 2012
  • Summary: I wish it doubled the frame rate from 60hz to 120 to make ghosting virtually non-existent. Hopefully the XBOX 720 will have 120hz output. It does look exquisite when I run games from my PC on 120hz though, I'm not going to lie.
  • Pros: Very high frame rate, extremely crisp, simple adjustment menu, auto detection, extremely versatile stand, best gaming monitor I've ever bought.
  • Cons: Develops an annoying flicker after a few month, can be seen when the screen is displaying darker images, it has to do with the hertz, most devices only put out 60hz, and it's designed for 120. It takes a while to come on, but it doesn't matter if you're a PS3 or 360 gamer. It favors inputs, if yo...

Great Gaming Monitor

Corey A., Newegg
6 May 2012
  • Pros: Fast, almost zero input lag. If you think 120hz doesn't mean anything, just try it. You won't go back.
  • Cons: None.

Great 120hz monitor, super smooth gaming

Marek R., Newegg
16 January 2012
  • Pros: I bought this monitor for gaming purposes and its ability to break that 60hz barrier of other monitors. Games and video look great, especially games which look much more smooth if you have a PC that can push out 100+ frames per second. My Research showed that this monitor had the strongest set of...
  • Cons: Doesn't look as sleek as some other models, but not that important.

Best Gaming Monitor Today

Danny V., Newegg
3 October 2011
  • Summary: I've looked over and tried 3 other 120Hz monitors. One from LG which also boasts 0 input lag (surprised I found one in a store), the Acer offering with kiddy cool orange on it, and the one from Asus that came with 3D glasses.
  • Pros: * 120Hz with 0 input lag. This has improved my gaming in FPS CONSIDERABLY. I will NEVER go back to the usual LCD/LED monitor that advertises low response times. This is the real deal. * Matted Finish - Compared to the Asus offering, this is much more refined for me. I don't get that glossy reflec...
  • Cons: * "Crushed blacks" - The dark end of the monitor tends to blend in. This is partly due to it being a VERY bright monitor. It can do exceedingly well in lighter colors, but not so much on darker ones. * You WILL need a computer that can actually output 120fps or more! - Don't get me wrong, the mon...

Great Monitor

Gordon F., Newegg
27 September 2011
  • Summary: When installing the NVIDIA 3D vision drivers I made the mistake of having both the BenQ 120Hz monitor and the 60Hz monitor connected to my system. This resulted in a red warning message in the set up wizard.
  • Pros: I have a dual missmatched monitor set up now with the BenQ 23.6" and another brand 21" 60Hz monitor. The 120Hz BenQ display is far better. I have only looked at a few 3D demos so far. 2D and 3d looks great on the BenQ monitor.
  • Cons: This is not a Con against BenQ. I find that the 3D is like looking at 3D inside of a box. Nothing really stands out from the monitor. I thought the 23.6" monitor would be large enough for good 3D. To get the best 3D image, buy the largest 3D monitor you can afford. Or sit real close to the smalle...

Ignore online reviews

Anonymous, Newegg
13 September 2011
  • Summary: Had the Planar 120hz monitor before this one. According to online reviews, that was supposed to be the way to go and the Benq was the ugly duckling. Should of got the Benq first.
  • Pros: Great color.. first thing you need to do when getting this monitor is turn off the FPS mode. The colors looked washed in that setting. Put in standard mode and tune to your desire. Barely any back light bleeding... there was some along the bottom but not a deal breaker and wasn't really noticeabl...
  • Cons: UPS shipping sucks. It would be faster to drive to Cali from South Florida to get my stuff.

best monitor i have seen

blase t., Newegg
2 September 2011
  • Summary: i had a dead pixel on the right side of my screen for about a week. then it went away. i was getting ready to return it. but has been running fine since november, now its 10 months later and still a great monitor.
  • Pros: everything is a good so far for me. 0 - to very little input lag, 120hz, led backlighting, a lot of tweaking options. I bought this monitor from benq before it was released in the US, so i payed a little higher than what its going for here. but to me its worth every penny. I bought a new gaming r...

Good 120hz gaming monitor

Garrett L., Newegg
14 July 2011
  • Summary: I have read a lot about these monitors having backlight bleeding issues. 1 out of the 3 I have has a small amount but no more than my older Samsung 2233RZ. I now am playing Battlefield BC2 on max rez with a 3 monitor eyefinity setup and its a blast!
  • Pros: This is a great 120hz led lcd monitor. Followed a couple of videos on how to tune the monitor and once I did this it came alive. I now have 3 of these with a 6950 with an eyefinity setup. The stands even though plastic are very maneuverable.
  • Cons: It does have its drawbacks since its a TN panel so the viewing angle is limited. One of the three has a small bleed in the lower right corner not noticeable enough to take off an egg. It does take a little tuning to get the picture to your liking. (But there are a lot of options)
