Summary: I've had a BenQ FP731 for about six months with no problems. I bought it at about $300 and it had the best specs for the price at the time and that still seems to be the case. It is only 9 Lbs, which is good if you're travelling and it has a clean appearance and feels solid. It works well pivoting to portrait view--if you change your video card settings or install Pivot Pro software. There is essentially no manual, but the default settings are pretty good.
Summary: With the purchase of this monitor, I finally joined the LCD monitor club. I think it is time for everyone to join the club and what better way than with this monitor ! Great price. Great quality. Takes only a couple of minutes to set up. After the computer is switched on, it does an auto adjust and that is it. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I didn't want to make it look like this is the best among the best. I have seen better LCD monitors than this.
Summary: The monitor had no bad pixels, and has a good display. It is a little bright on white pages but not offensive. Documenttion is weak. Did have a slight problem getting it to be recognized by Windows 98 but did not need any special help to put it into service.
Summary: I just got 2 of these from FedEx today for setup as a dual monitor. I got them because of the thin bezel, good for dual, and because of the price versus Samsung (I've got 2x 173T's in dual too). I must say that the monitors look great, both design and picture. No dead pixels, and slick design. The picture is warm, easily adjustable and razor sharp for text and colors. The included auto-adjust utility is really good.
Summary: Just recieved this monitor and it is very clear and it auto adjusts everything so there is no real setup to do. Just plug in and power up. The only drawback is if you use a lower res than the one recomended it is not as clear. but the recomended res is perfect size and you wouldnt want to lower it.
Excerpt: "I recently purchased a BenQ FP731 17inch TFT Monitor as my old CRT (The ones that look like TV's.) was getting long in the tooth. TFT as you may know it are the new type of monitors on the market (You may know them as LCD's). Thinner and with a better picture than your bulky old CRT's these seemed to be the way to go. TFT monitors if you didn't know are actually bigger than CRT's in terms of screen size (not by much though.) After looking at this ...
