Review Summary
The BenQ FP241W is an impressive 24-inch LCD display with a native resolution of 1,920 X 1,200, and can also double as an HD display. Three of its six video inputs directly support high-definition signals (HDMI, DVI and component), while the other three are common video connections (D-sub, S-video and composite). There are no audio inputs, as the FP241W lacks built-in speakers. The BenQ FP241W performance can be rated first class. The Benq FP241W specification is remarkable. The 500cd/m² brightness and the contrast ratio 1000:1 are a perfect match. 6 ms response time is satisfactory, and the range of inputs is tremendous. There are plenty of ways to connect up your hardware; you can easily attach a PC via DVI, Xbox 360 via VGA, and HD player via HDMI. There is also support for component input. The Benq provides a range of ergonomic adjustment. The adjustment method is easy, and the weight of the base is appropriately thick and the monitor also pivots 90 degrees and adjusts up and down in that direction, too. There are three USB ports in addition to the one on the top, designed for a webcam, and two on the side. The ports arranged along the bottom, as well as the USB ports on the left hand side. The menu buttons are on the side of the screen. The display has several different pre-set picture modes that are designed to complement the range of inputs available. Movie mode makes the picture a little sharper than Standard mode. However, attempting to do any desktop work in a mode other than Standard is not recommended as it is bad for the eyes. Dynamics mode ups the brightness and contrast substantially, whereas Photo mode makes everything a little more neutral. The BenQ FP241W is a widescreen 24-inch display perfect for multimedia and gaming applications.

Benq FP241W 24" widescreen monitor
Reviewer: bit-tech.net07 November 2006The Benq FP241W is clearly a stunning monitor. It ticks all the right boxes geeks are going to look for in a monitor. There is plenty of connectivity, with enough room to hook up a PC and several other high definition devices. The additional USB ports on the side, as well as the webcam one on top, make for some additional flexibility. The panel sports fantastic display quality with all the statistics you'd want to see on a monitor costing north of five hundred notes... Read more
