Good so far

Alexander K., Newegg
11 October 2007
  • Pros: Good panel for the price...in fact, one of the best. It's hard to find panels in this price range with this resolution and specification.
  • Cons: 6-bit panel. Not for professional photowork or extreme fidelity environments.

Bargain FPW

Anonymous, Newegg
9 February 2007
  • Summary: You get what you pay for but this is a good monitor and definitely worth the price. No dead pixels on mine.
  • Pros: Great value wide screen FP monitor for typical desktop use, gaming, etc. Bright, good color and contrast, sharp text, big screen size for the money.
  • Cons: Control button placement is difficult to use. OSD isn't great. Stand lacks height and swivel adjustments. It's really not in the same class as twice-the-price 24" panels. Probably not well suited for professional graphics work.

The Benq FP222W BK

Chauncey D., Newegg
20 December 2006
  • Summary: If you can put up with some minor color banding and insignificant backlight bleed, this monitor is a great buy at this price ($xxx!) As a gamer, my games look phenomenal.
  • Pros: 1) Huge screen. 2) Only one dead pixel. 3) Great resolution. 4) Very crisp and bright picture.
  • Cons: 1) Has a dead pixel. 2) Has some backlight bleed, but is only noticeable during a black screen. 3) Some minor color banding.

Almost Perfect

Andrew C., Newegg
19 November 2006
  • Summary: Over all, the one dead pixel aside, the nicest monitor one could buy for the money.
  • Pros: Good brightness, nice contrast ratio, excellent response time. Works well for games. Screen is nice and large, and I appreciate the multiple inputs; both types of monitor cables included.
  • Cons: Only thing I can complain about is the dead pixel on the left hand side of the screen; first one I have ever owned since the late 1990's. Some luck eh? Yet, for the most part I don't notice unless I am looking.

Lacks something

Roger D., Newegg
4 November 2006
  • Summary: Had this unit been built with a sharper native resolution the deal would be outstanding.
  • Pros: Has good color, brightness, contrast and screen size. This is considerably larger than my Viewsonic 20.1 widescreen.
  • Cons: Native resolution of 1680 x 1050 is not sharp enough for this 22" screen. Makes the purchase a good one, but not excellent
