Benq FP222W LCD Monitor

6 March 2007
  • Excerpt: In a recent review we had checked out Viewsonic‘s 22 inch widescreen LCD , the VG2230 WM and had found it to be good VFM. The product we are going to be reviewing today is Benq’s FP222W which is a 22-inch LCD panel. Benq’s specifications for the FP222W are similar to Viewsonic’s offering. Is the Benq able to keep up with the Viewsonic? Read on to find out. Benq unlike other manufacturers does not like to vary the design and looks of its monitors.

  • Summary: While the FP222W specifications aren't outstanding, they're not disastrous either, and the BenQ works well within its limited remit. This is only the beginning of the 22in revolution, but if you don't want to wait to see what's coming out in a few months, the FP222W will give you a taste without emptying your bank balance.
  • Pros: Decent specifications, above-average response rate, good brightness and contrast ratings, attractive and colourful graphics, precise text
  • Cons: Confusing menu system, buttons should have been on the front
