Still going strong

Michael J., Newegg
24 June 2011
  • Summary: I really wish there was a comparable monitor today... this one cannot possibly last forever.
  • Pros: This monitor is gorgeous and does everything well. I purchased it from newegg in 2008 and it is still going strong in 2011 and I don't see any new monitors that match the features with the price I paid for this beauty.
  • Cons: None what-so-ever.

Works perfectly

Dagan H., Newegg
30 April 2009
  • Summary: -I don't know how well the speakers work, don't plan to use them. Same with the HDMI settings.
  • Pros: -No dead pixels upon arrival. -I notice no glare or bleed. -Automatic switching from 16:9 to 4:3 when games change resolution!
  • Cons: -Screen menu isn't the easiest to use.

Nice Monitor

carlos f., Newegg
9 March 2009
  • Summary: There is a known issue with some directx 10 games and windows vista running at 1920x1080 in full screen mode with ATI video cards. I have an HD 4870 1GB video card and had that problem with these video games: Assassins creed, Crysis and Bioshock.
  • Pros: Nice Image, no noticeable backlight bleeding (Tiny line on top and botton), working great with PC, PS3 and XBOX 360 (HDMI Switch). Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and would have no problems recommending this monitor.
  • Cons: None.

Amazing

Grant V., Newegg
28 February 2009
  • Summary: If you are a highly competitive gamer, buy this monitor. I know of multiple level 50's on Halo 3 that use this monitor. I use VGA cables (owned Xbox before they had HDMI) and the picture quality is impressive, I'd imagine it looks even better with HDMI.
  • Pros: This monitor has pretty much no input lag at all, if you are looking for a gaming monitor stop here. I bought it for my Xbox 360 so that I could play Halo 3 in HD, in Halo 3 if there is any input lag at all it makes the difference between life and death or the difference between getting the head ...
  • Cons: I didn't buy it sooner.

Excellent for XBox360

Craig N., Newegg
28 February 2009
  • Summary: Potential problem with the HDMI. When I hooked up my XBox360 to the monitor through HDMI, there was a noticeable flicker on brighter screens. It might only do this with an XBox, or maybe it's even the XBox's fault, but it could be something you might want to look into if plan on using the HDMI.
  • Pros: Great size, low input lag (selling point for me), and the stand even makes a great place to put your 360/PS3 controller when not in use.
  • Cons: Uneven backlight throughout the screen, but it's very faint. If you're a gamer, you don't care, nor can you see it. The last monitor I owned (an LG) had very strong backlight bleed on the edges and it was quite distracting. Not on this one.

Excellent Monitor

Keith S., Newegg
27 February 2009
  • Pros: With this being my first LCD monitor this one is excellent way better than my old 17in CRT. This Monitor is very bright and the colors come through nice and vibrant. I have tested the HD capabilities of this monitor and I've found them to be absolutely stunning. I currently have this monitor conn...
  • Cons: I really don't have any at this current time.

User Review

Joel S., Newegg
21 February 2009
  • Summary: One of the previous reviewers said you see less in games because of the 1920x1080 resolution compared to the 1920x1200 resolution of 16:10 24" monitors. This is actually not true.
  • Pros: I forgot to mention the 2ms response does make a difference. Just move a window with black text on a white background. This monitor does not blur at all if you do that. My samsung with 5ms response time makes the text flash and shimmer when i do that. on this benq monitor, the text stays solid an...

Great for lights-off viewing

Joel S., Newegg
21 February 2009
  • Summary: Case is a little bit ugly and bulky looking, in my opinion. The besel is thick and doesn't give you that super widescreen 16:9 feeling as much as the ones with thin besels do. The extra silver plastic bar on the bottom of the besel adds to the bulkiness and makes it feel more like a 16:10 monitor at...
  • Pros: Wow. This monitor performs exactly like the professional review at Prad.de said it would. Most cheaper LCD monitors have high contrast when you turn them up really bright, but fail miserably when you turn down the brightness all the way because there is just too much light seeping through the pan...
  • Cons: Very slight hum sound at certat certain brightnes levels. It's not a high-pitched buzz like some cheaper monitors, so it really isnt annoying or anything. an you can get used to it. Plus it's only noticeable in complete silence. It is much more discrete than the buzzing sound that my samsung 16:9...

Awesome

Ryan K., Newegg
17 February 2009
  • Summary: I was doing some research on monitors for quite some time, and I eventually settled on this one. I have a ps3 so i wanted something that could serve as a big monitor and big enough to game on.
  • Pros: Big screen no dead pixels wall mountable hdmi good looking
  • Cons: the speakers on it suck, but i knew that when reading the reviews and buying. I have a set of bose speakers already so i just hooked those up to it right away.
