Perfect size, resolution, response/refresh rate for gaming and videos.

  • Summary: This monitor and its specifications are no longer made and I'm lucky to grab it as this is my 2nd one. The first one I bought new. It's because it is an usual size 25.5" (though marketed as a 26") and its resolution is 1920 x 1200 not 1920 x 1080. The aspect ratio is 16:10, not 16:9 and the refresh rate is 59hz and the response time which is KEY for video gaming is 2ms!! Two milliseconds is lightning fast.

Very good display at desirable 16:10 aspect ratio. Outstanding value.

  • Summary: I purchased this monitor for work, and for the work I do the larger size everything. The extra height over 1920X1080 displays is very helpful. There seems to be some color shift toward the top of the display at some viewing angles, but it is not too bad and does not interfere with use of the monitor.

Overall, a wonderful monitor for the price.

  • Summary: The ASUS VW266H has a nice matte finish and relatively even back-lighting. For its age, the grey scale isn't terrible, but the vertical angle below 10 degrees is somewhat dark (as to be expected from a TN panel).

Please Asus/Amazon - Bring Back this 1920x1200 Gem!!

Troy, Amazon
5 April 2011
  • Summary: I have owned this monitor for about a year now, and agree with the majority of the positive reviews. It's not absolute perfection, but for under USD$300, Asus knocked the ball out of the park with the VW266H. Were it still available for purchase new, I would READILY pay USD$500+ for this 1920x1200 resolution MONITOR.

Big, Bright and Vivid

Consumer 007, Amazon
19 January 2011
  • Summary: This monitor is really very impressive. It arrived today and I've spent the past 2 hours staring at it, amazed by the brightness and vivid color of the images. It makes everything more immersive; more beautiful; more visual. Text is not laser sharp via VGA but is still good. Text is quite sharp via DVI or HDMI, as are icons, dialog box borders etc.

Love this monitor! Also, no blue tinge to be found.

  • Summary: Needs ----- I am a programmer who occasionally plays first-person shooter games and of course, (does this really even need to be mentioned nowadays?) browses the Web. Features -------- 16:10 aspect ratio - For my generally text-oriented needs, I really wanted a less rectangular view than 16:9 offers. 16:10 is perfect for me, but sadly almost impossible to find nowadays. TN - Compared to IPS, this tech.

ASUS to the bone

Huckleberry, Amazon
14 December 2010
  • Summary: Got this as a 2nd monitor to match a now unavailable Princeton 26", and it immediately became the primary with the Princeton set as the 'also' screen. Colors are vibrant, black is near perfect, controls are excellent, HDMI works RIGHT every time (more rare than I would have thought), and even has usable speakers built in. I buy a lot of ASUS gear if it's available at a comparable price to any other brand, and have never regretted it; this is just another example.

Perfect size for side-by-side vertical windows

G. Little, Amazon
6 October 2010
  • Summary: I've been using this monitor for a few weeks now and am very happy with its great balance of size, quality and value. Size: I use this in the office hooked up to a closed laptop so this is my only screen. The trend toward 16:9 ratio monitors is a bad idea for just about everything except watching movies or gaming. Pretty much everything else reads vertically.

A very good monitor, great value.

  • Summary: I use this monitor for basic business functions plus basic photo and video editing. it does everything extremely well for a very, very inexpensive monitor. having the extra 10 percent height over a 1920x1080 makes a huge difference in editing documents and photos (remember that after the frame around the application window and the menus and all, you lose a lot of real estate.
