Summary: I own two other Asus monitors that I purchased here on Amazon. How this monitor manged to arrive with so many dead pixels is beyond me. I did indeed try pixel software to attempt to fix it to no avail.
Summary: I like a lot of Asus products and have bought many. This monitor is a complete piece of junk. Do Not Buy This. Pros: I like amazon Cons: The brightness and gamma settings are almost unusable. Almost everything you watch is washed out. This is a terrible gaming monitor. And when I say terrible, I mean terrible. If I used my old dell monitor and my current vizio monitor in dual mode (HDMI and DVI-D) everything works (albeit the dell is mostly dead).
Summary: First Id like to say I have used Asus mother boards, video cards and other items for years and only have the highest regard for their products - the soul exception being this monitor. I bought the VS278Q-P in early May and have been trying to like it since - yesterday I finally gave up trying to like this thing and reattached my old 24" View Sonic. What's the problem?
Was defective - or hated my video card (which I've never seen happen)

Summary: What else can I say? I hooked up the monitor - and every 5-10 minutes the monitor would act as if I were changing the input source. At one point I turned off the monitor, and it would power back up, and instantly give me a black screen. :(.
Summary: I chose this monitor for the built in speakers, then its size and warranty. So far I cannot get the speakers to work. I know it is not the computer or connector because I hooked up to a separate set of speakers. Now I have to find the time to carry the monitor into Best Buy and have them check it out. Probably have to sent it out for repair - a new monitor. The monitor has a very good picture. If the speakers worked this would have been a great buy.
Pros: Large monitor for price.
Cons: Speakers don't work. I ended up connecting a separate set of speakers.
Summary: I have been a loyal customer of ASUS (UL30A Lap Top Computer, CM650 Desk Top Computer) and I just purchased a brand new 27" ASUS VS278Q-P LCD display. After connecting it and turning the power on nothing! I toggled the power switch on the rear of LCD several times, changed power cords and switched to a different power outlet, no change no indication of power. I figured there must be something I am missing.
This looked great, and the spec's speek for themselves BUT

Summary: Great reviews, made me drool. Plenty of connections in the back Great ease of front button access. Even had a stand I liked. Some say it was cheap in their reviews, but I say it was OK for the price of the monitor and the great spec's. I would not recommend this product to anyone with the lot run I had. It was DOA, dead on arrival. Power light never came on. Tried multiple outlets all worked, the monitor did not. Cu-toes to Amazon's replacement policy!
Summary: Excessive white light leaking from left edge. My desktop picture has a black background and on this monitor is looks "foggy". When comparing it against my ASUS PB278Q, there is a significant difference in depth of color. I know the ASUS PB series is a better line of displays, but this VS278Q-P looks horrible compared to it. I expect a slight difference in the blacks, but not as much as I see with this monitor. Sending it back.
