Awesome display

  • Summary: Using this on a windows 10 machine with 2 older monitors as well. Have had no issues at all.
  • Pros: Has an amazing picture with some minor tweaking of the default settings. Sound is actually surprisingly decent for a flat screen.
  • Cons: None at the moment.

Great Monitor, happy with the refurbished one I got.

  • Pros: Nice screen no dead pixels. Bright but I did adjust the color to my liking. Don't be afraid of refurbished ones, on my was just a few scuffs long the bottom edge of the plastic.
  • Cons: Not ASUS issue but shipping took 4 days more then it should have.

Awesome All Around!

Cameron J., Newegg

  • Summary: For people commenting about this display being "washed out," having "bad black levels," and "bad color," please take some time to adjust the settings to what you want before buying a bad review... this monitor has plenty of parameters useful for calibrating it correctly which adds more value to it.
  • Pros: This is an amazing monitor! Before buying, I read a lot of reviews about it being "washed out," having "bad black levels," and "bad color," but I thought I'd roll the dice to see for myself (generally these "issues" are due to users not knowing how to properly calibrate a display or adjust settin...

  • Summary: At this moment i'm waiting for a solution since i cannot roll back to windows 7 to be able to use this monitor. I really hope ASUS will fix this very quick so i will be able to do a real review of the product and capability instead of getting stuck with a normal 27 inch display monitor.
  • Pros: Hello, Here is my first review of my new screen ASUS VS278Q P-designed for gaming. Fast delivery by Newegg and the price paid for a 27 inch screen of this class will be the only positive points I'll give you about this review.
  • Cons: If your goal is to actually use the full potential of this screen in Windows 10, then go see elsewhere because it will obviously not the case. No driver available and since the release of Windows 10. Some will tend to say it is not serious just use the Windows plug & play drivers but unfortunatel...

Very nice for the price

  • Summary: I wanted to upgrade to a 144hz monitor, but it wasn't in my budget. After looking at the stats on my old monitor (8ms response, 60hz, 500:1 contrast) I figured this monitor would be a massive improvement. I was right. I don't have buyers remorse.
  • Pros: - When upgrading from an 8 year old 22" this monitor seems massive. - 1ms response time is nice. Compared to the 8ms response time I'm used to, a 1080p movie looks amazing. Fast paced scenes with camera panning look smoother. - Right out of the box the colors are very accurate. I was expecting (b...
  • Cons: - Stand is a bit wobbly. If you have a wobbly desk the monitor is going to jiggle a bit. The monitor is very light though, so I don't see any damage possible. This is less a con and more of a nit picking. - Out of the box settings are way too bright. Wasted 10 seconds on my time turning it down. ...

dead pixel right in the center

Laura T., Newegg
6 December 2015
  • Summary: it did came on an ASUS box with all the connectors, however a dead pixel on a screen this size makes the monitor useless as it is very noticeable.... Do yourself a favor and dont purchase these monitors refurbished as it seems they are poorly tested by ASUS before they are sent to the customers.
  • Pros: Even it is a 1920x1080 on a 27 inches, color reproduction is quite good and large pixels are rather ok to my surprise,
  • Cons: I knew this was a refurbished item, but new egg items had never let me down (well, until now)... this monitor had bad scratches all over the frame (and I can live with that for the price I paid), however it does have a dead pixel right in the center, on games/movies whenever there is a low light ...

An excellent monitor

Walter A., Newegg
24 November 2015
  • Summary: I purchased this as an open-box item, for the 27" screen and DisplayPort/HDMI ports, and its been one of those purchases that lined up just right (cost/features). Unexpectedly, it also had a short DVI to HDMI cable, which Im also using.
  • Pros: All the features I was interested in, work great. All of the pixels work, its bright, and all of the ports work well. Good screen area and narrow border. Im using it for gaming (mostly with the DisplayPort), and thats all working well also. One of the main things I've enjoyed about this monitor i...
  • Cons: None really that I've found.
