Summary: Buying this product was a nightmare on all fronts, up until the very end. When I received this item, it came with 2 VGA cables instead of 1 VGA and 1 DVI cable, so I called Amazon hoping for a fix. They said I would need to contact ASUS as Amazon has no dealings with what is inside the box unless it is broken (which is completely understandable).
Summary: Perhaps I just got a bad one, but this monitor, when fully tightened to the base (yes I read the instructions--yes I know how to tighten a bolt) had a HUGE lean to the right. For kicks, I placed a level on the top of the monitor to judge how far off it was...It took me manually pushing the left side down with force about 3 inches before it read level. Of course, within 20 minutes, the monitor would snap back to its off-kilt lean.
Summary: The back light bleed on my monitor is so bad I had to turn economy mode on. Still even with this on you can see it all around the edges of the screen, and really dark areas in the center are still washed out by it. I may have just gotten a lemon, but I would not recommend this product to anyone. Asus dose not take returns for back light bleed problems.
Summary: Pros: 24" + 2ms g2g is a great, but then again there's a lot of other manufacturers for the same size and refresh rate. Wall mount sockets are in place so this is possible and definitely recommended. Matte finish LED backlit screen, definitely a plus for the reduced glare and added brightness from LED. Cons: Dead Pixel and HDMI port as mentioned in headline.
Cons: The monitor came scratched and with dead pixels. I got refurbished so I knew what I was getting but it got worst as day past on. It was accceptable at first but now its just annoying. Never getting a used again...... Going try to talk to a Asus representative about this
Summary: So I really enjoyed the first 4 hours of using my monitor. It was great, sharp, quick responding. But after those first 4 hours, i started getting a weird LED strobe effect. The effect was moving down the screen in a diagonal. I hesitate to attribute this to the poor packing. But that seems like it could have been part of the issue.
Summary: This was purchased to compliment a 5-year old 24 inch Samsung LCD monitor for a dual-monitor video editing system. With "the latest in viewing technology" & 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio I expected the picture quality to be superior to a 5-year old Samsung. It is not. Perhaps LED is just not up to par with LCD yet. And the base is wobbly.
