Summary: As far as money can buy, this monitor shouldn't disappoint you. Although I have the urge to say "if you want something better, save up the money and buy a more expensive monitor," I have not had a monitor more expensive than, and better than, this monitor, save for the last 1080p monitor I had,...
Pros: Admirable picture quality. No screen bleeding or dead pixels as of the first two days I got this monitor. Significant difference in picture and size, coming from someone who was stuck with a 20" 1600x900 monitor with 7ms response time, at least according to the monitor's specs. 2ms response time ...
Cons: Screen flickers to black after gaming for a while, for some inexplicable reason. Colors, depending on the settings, can tend to "ghost" (or, in other words, be hidden by a similar color, unnaturally). Colors may also be off depending on what you have it set up to. Most features the monitor comes ...
Summary: I sent out my rebate so I am still waiting to see if I get the same headaches that other people have reported on dealing with ASUS rebates. Bought this on memorial day for 115 bucks after rebate so the combination of price, resolution, size, etc led me to making the purchase.
Pros: It works Price on sale made the purchase attractive HDMI/DVI/VGA ports (Doesn't have speakers so I imagine the only benefit of HDMI is the headphone jack?) Bigger screen then I was expecting (guess i'm just used to my 14" ultrabook)
Cons: Minor ghosting (Mainly text when scrolling or moving windows around) Ghosting was rather apparent in darker games but if you go into MENU-->IMAGE-->TRACE FREE and set that to 0 it gets rid of that
Summary: I've been looking a long time for a good >20-inch monitor with quick response time (<5ms) costing less than $200, and always came back to this model for its overall features and value. The sale price and the rebate amount to an amazing deal and I'm quite happy, so far. Newegg was quick in delivery.
Pros: Size. Clarity. Easy Set up. No dead pixels. Delivered quickly for free.
Cons: None, so far. Stand is a tiny bit wobbly, but not an issue on my desk. Rebate process is a bit cumbersome.
Pros: Great colors when you use a dvi which gives you better blacks than hdmi. A great response time.
Cons: A weird ghosting effect and graphics glitching out in the middle. Probably my graphics card but haven't looked much into it. Not to sure why there is so much ghosting but hopefully i'll get it figured out.
Summary: It was good while it lasted. I would have totally get another one... I think ASUS makes a decent product.
Pros: It had good blacks and nice contrast. The colors were bright and vivid. There was no ghosting or blurring.
Cons: It had a dead pix in the upper left hand corner, when I got it. I never really noticed it. After 2 years it finally died. When I went to go turn on my computer, where the dead pixel was, there was now a thick yellow line that ran the height of the monitor.
Summary: This monitor is not perfect but at this price point, it was never intended to be. If you're looking for triple monitor gaming glory and/or bragging rights on a budget, this monitor will definitely get the job done.
Pros: Bought 3 of them, they all arrived in perfect condition and in perfect working order. Super low response time and low input lag prove great in competitive gaming and the panels are nice and lightweight and fairly thin.
Cons: Most of this we already know - viewing angles are far from spectacular( its a TN panel; its quick response time and low input lag still make it the better choice for gamers) The included stand lacks important ergonomic adjustment features that I would definitely have difficulty dealing with if i ...
