Summary: I can get up to 1920x1080 resolution using this as a monitor. The nice things for me, is that I have a desktop with a VGA monitor out and an HDMI out. I have another (non-HD) monitor plugged into the VGA output. I was able to plug in this ASUS monitor to the HDMI out and now I can run two monitors at a high-resolution next to each other. No extra video card or other hardware...just be sure to buy an HDMI cable.
Summary: Gamer here. Upgraded from a 1400 x 900 LCD resolution monitor to this one, you can very much tell the difference. My LCD monitor would be dark if you viewed it at certain angles, LED has no problems with that. Also white colors are very brighter. The best part is you can play movies and games in 1080p. Great monitor for the price.
Summary: Received this today. Was concerned about the chance of receiving something with some disappointing pixels. No issues. Love it. The colors and esp the greens are a little tricky to balance. But the options don't take much more than 5 minutes to run through and get it somewhere decent. Spent just a few minutes looking for a clip of 1080p video to be impressed by, haven't been anywhere near stunned but am running this out of a laptop, off integrated graphics..
Summary: Pros: Excellent picture quality for the price! Cons: No built in speakers ( not really a negative, just making a note about it). I would recommend this to anyone who needs a decent monitor that won't break the bank.
Summary: Excellent monitors! I bought 2 of these in anticipation of getting my new editing system. Once everything was hooked up and running they did not disappoint! I tested them thoroughly and there are zero dead pixels! Of course you have to tweak them to your liking rather than going with the out of box settings but that should go without saying.
