Summary: There's nothing physically wrong with the monitor. It has several cables that come with it, although I still had to get an adapter. But the reason I returned it is that the resolution (on my computer, a MacBook Pro) will only max out at 1600, not the 1900+ the listing states. So the picture will not fill out the screen. In other words, it's supposed to be a 27" monitor, but I'm only getting about 23".
Summary: I wanted to increase the size of my desktop computer monitor and decided 27 inch would be the right size. After researching many brands and their reviews I found Asus to be a product leader. My new Asus VN279QL 27-inch monitor arrived promptly from Amazon and WoW its a beaut! No disappointments here! It lives up to everything Asus says and other reviewers too. It was quite an adjustment for my eyes to take in the large screen.
Excerpt: Replaced my old 30" apple with this monitor. I was using dual displays for graphic design. This monitor blows away the apple as far as resolution is concerned and the ability to convert to portrait mode more than compensates for the slightly smaller size. I found the menu for adjustment kind of challenging initially but once I got the hang of it, I was able to calibrate and the results are great.
Pros: Great Resolution Color, Small Footprint, Swivel Screen, Terrific Price
Summary: It has been a week since I installed this monitor. Just plugged in an HDMI cable (not provided) and it worked like a charm. It is absolutely beautiful. No issues, no pixel bleeds. Working just great. Will update after a month or so.
Summary: I'm in love with this monitor. I mounted it on my wall immediately after opening the box so I can't speak much on the stand (although it is obviously aesthetically pleasing and seems to be of solid construction), but the monitor itself is gorgeous. No dead pixels, and a perfect image after about a half hour of toying with the calibration.
