Summary: I know it its a Refurbished unit so its not going to be prefect. but not sure if it was worth 200. felt like this one should have been like 150-175. So I do feel like I over paid for what I got. Also the box came pretty jacked, but the screen packaging seems to still be in tack.
Pros: Big, great display. works good for a Refurbished.
Cons: 2 small clusters of dead pixels on the left side of the screen. Not like game breaking. But noticeable if watching a movies or anything more on the dark side. the web cam cover came cracked. The stand wiggles.
Summary: I returned it after being unable to load the webcam driver either from CD come in the box or from ASUS website. After installing from CD, I see a message 'latop only.' Hello??!!! The CD label says 'LCD monitor.
Pros: Looks and runs great. I use it for gaming, not color-specific applications. Response time is terrific.
Cons: HDMI input just quit working after nearly a year. Didn't move my setup or jiggle any wires. ASUS customer support issued RMA on first phone call (took about 30 minutes overall to hold for chat response and fill out their form). I will update when I get the monitor back.
Summary: Seems strange that an otherwise perfectly working monitor will not power up if you turn it off using the power button.
Pros: Awesome monitor, when it is working
Cons: If I use the power button on the monitor to turn it off, it will not let me turn it back on. Elsewhere, I found another user had documented the same issue. Apparently, you have to unplug all cables from the monitor and let it sit for 20 minutes or so and then plug it back in and it powers up as i...
Summary: no Mac driver for the camera. Use it in dual-monitor setups on both PC and Mac and in every other respect it is one of the better monitors I've used. But it is kind of ridiculous not to provide a driver for the Mac these days.
Cons: it does not like 1920x1080 resolution its always blinky, except in game then its fine. if you lower the resolution its fine. but if i wanted lower resolution i would have bought a cheaper moniter
Summary: Just buy a nice monitor, then speakers and webcam separate
Pros: Price, Excellent webcam
Cons: Speakers are inside the back panel so it sounds like its in a cave. They also point towards ceiling so you have to turn them all the way up to hear and then the sound is awful. My speakers stopped working completely after trying the headphone jack... which also didn't work.
