Pros: The monitor has great color, great contrast when it works
Cons: It worked great the first day. The next day, it was working when I went to lunch, but when I came back the backlight was out. I swapped cables around unplugged, replugged, etc. Had given up and was sitting in my chair staring at the screen considering taking it down of the monitor arm when it just came back on on it's own. It worked fine for a whole week, then today I re-arranged cables which required me to disconnect the power. After plugging it back in, I have been ...
Summary: Regarding VK248H-CSM SUMMARY: If you only use one input, and it's a computer, this monitor is great. -1 star for no volume buttons, and -1 star for automatically dropping DVI to RGB. DETAILS: I've used this on a Thinkpad, Optiplex, and PowerEdge with various video adapters. DVI, RGB and HDMI all get crisp, clean 1920x1080. - If using DVI, and the input source loses signal (low power mode on computer), then the monitor automatically switches to RGB.
Summary: I got this for a system I put together for my Sister, a barebones from Tiger Direct. Everything worked well except I couldn't figure out how to get the external speakers to work after hooking up the headphones. It seems you have to choose one or the other which I found to be a little annoying. Other than that, nice pic and satisfied.
Summary: Here's the short of it. This is not a bad monitor for general purpose net surfing, image viewing, and video streaming. However, the product information on the product page suggested that the monitor featured a Displayport connection. This was the main reason why I purchased this particular model, else I would have saved myself $20 and purchased something else. It is also why I am giving this 3 stars only.
Summary: Monitor does everything it advertises...EXCEPT.... Webcam does not work with Macbook. Computer does not see/recognize webcam for Facetime/Skype. No known fix/driver update for this after reading forums. Also, integrated speakers dont work if you already have other external speakers plugged into computer.
Summary: I am not a very technical person, so I do not know all the terms. But when I was watching movies with this monitor, the colors looked weird. It kinda looked like it was smudged? I don't know. But I did not think that I got a defected one, so I kept it. Also, the quality of speaker is pretty much bad. I know that I cannot expect an awesome sound from a monitor speaker, but it's way too bad in my opinion. When the sound goes up just a little bit, it makes weird noises.
Summary: It'll clearly state on the box and on product serial Tag that this monitor is a LCD monitor. The backlit LED part was on the "attention grabber" advertisement attached to the monitor. This review would have received a 2 star, but the picture quality is very impressive and I can live without the fact that this is not a LED monitor.
Summary: Wonderful monitor overall, good picture, good price for the feature set, meets all expectations except for one. The description of the monitor states that the webcam may be rotated, so that a user may adjust their camera angle. There is also a promotional photo further down, under Advanced Connectivity, showing the camera tilted upward.
Summary: I bought this monitor for the display port advertised in the description of the product - I use a Lenovo w520 that only uses this kind of port and VGA. The screen has DVI, VGA, and HDMI but no display port... It's written on the asus webpage of this product though, wish I had cross-checked before buying. Thanks Amazon, for the extra $40 I spent in an adapter and an HDMI cable. Yeah, it's the one cable that's not included in the box, all the others are.
