Excerpt: The quality of the picture is decent but for the price with a webcam built in-- it's a good deal. I had gone with this monitor because I wanted a webcam and my previous Asus monitor was of wonderful quality. The software that comes with the monitor does NOT work with Windows 8 and I found that incredibly frustrating. Webcam still works without it.
Summary: Other than the fact that it's actually not 21.5 inches and 20.25 with casing (the screen itself is 18.75), the screen is very well worth the price. I've honestly never had to put a brightness level so low compared to my old monitor i had to replace. I didn't really expect the camera to be that great, which it isn't, but it isn't that bad either.
Summary: I would say that this monitor has one of the best pictures for its price, with a bunch of different options for screen modes, and is energy efficient, etc etc... But the sound is just so terrible, my phone speakers is much louder and sounds better than this. Which was a let down since I was hoping I wouldn't need to get separate speakers. Considering separate speakers aren't take expensive, I'm not too turned off by this monitor, as the picture is still stellar.
Summary: Got the VK228H-CSM to hookup just fine with my new desktop. Only issue is that every time I move the monitor the screen goes out and I have unplug and plug in the power cord to get it to work. Anyone know what the deal is with this? The webcam works just fine. Sound is good and works for me.
