Summary: I think they should up the Resolution to 1080p and keep the same price. If you an afford it go for the 1080p monitors but this one looks beautiful anyways. Works great for em. It was so bright at 80% that i had to turn it down to 60%. Seems like it would do VERY well in a bright room.
Pros: 1. Large 2. Bright 3. Different viewing settings (I.E. Splendid) 4. Built in Speakers 5. Slim 6. Its Made by Asus
Cons: 1. 1680x1050 2. No HDMI 3. Built-in Speakers sound echoey ( they sound like old laptop speakers. but hey, what can you expect.)
Summary: I'm writing this review purely to offer what advice I can about the picture settings on these monitors. As some others have said - the out-of-the-box settings are bad. Very bad. After hours of fiddling with the cumbersome OSD I finally arrived at some sort of normalcy.
Pros: Cheap price ($179 each), HDMI input, nice size !!!!!! Aspect ratio of 16:10 and not the godawful 16:9 !!!!!!
Cons: Default settings for picture are unbearable.
Summary: This monitor looks amazing. Purchased it primarily for Eve Online, the screen is simply perfect. Only qualm (why it isn't 5 stars) is due to stuck green pixels on a black screen. Ran LCDTest as soon as I got it out of the box, around 13 stuck green pixels and two stuck blue pixels.
Summary: I do really like the monitor - it's a great improvement over the standard square sizes. Watch for the sales, though - I bought this monitor for $229, an excellent price. Full price, I don't know - there are always good monitors on sale for much less.
Pros: Color representations are excellent, nice warm picture, with ability to change to other "brightness" settings. Speakers are like most monitor speakers, they work, not much more than that - they function. No discoloring or dark spots, all corners are equal, monitor response timing is good. Camera ...
Cons: Menu controls are very difficult to navigate - hard to move between menu choices - every button seems to either take you out, or only changes the info on the page you're on. Not a big deal, mostly a PEBCAK issue, I'm sure. NO DRIVERS - no drivers exist for this monitor - not on the ASUS website, ...
Summary: I have been using it for a week. So far nothing has has gone wrong. No dead pixels and the quality of the pic is reasonable. It looks nice and it is doing its job. The fact that it has speakers and webcam makes it nicer as yourdesk is less cluttered now.
Pros: Price is fine. Webcam and speaker. HDMI input
Cons: nothing so far. I wish the speakers were a little bit more powerful.
Summary: This is very nice-looking monitor. Setup was a breeze. There's HDMI input, DVI and VGA, audio line in and USB for connecting webcam. There's Power, VGA and DVI cables in the box, no HDMI cable! VGA input looks blurry (letters have trail on a screen). DVI cable works like a charm.
Pros: Great size. Rich colors. Webcam is a plus. Max resolution is 1600 x 1050. Backlight is pretty bright.
Cons: No mic for webcam! Speakers pretty low quality, notebook like, so don't expect good-quality sound.
Summary: ...AnyDVD and DVDShrink, which works well time after time. I'll have to watch some more movies, both uncompressed original titles, and some others that I've copied, in order to make a final verdict. All in all, it's a good product, for a fair price.
Pros: I bought this as a dual-purpose solution to HD gaming, TV, and PC gaming. I've got my Xbox 360 connected via HDMI, and my PC connected w/ DVI. Picture looks good. My 360 is sending a 1080p signal to it, and it looks good, even though the resolution specs are only 1680x1050. Using Halo3's video ca...
Cons: ...2ms (gray-to-gray) response time seems accurate enough. I cannot tell much difference in response time from my aforementioned Acer 22" widescreen. No dead pixels, which is always good. My Acer didn't have any, either. Knock on wood for both. Input jacks on the back are very easy to get to. If ...
