Good for media, not so good for everyday use

Lee T. Sang, Amazon
14 February 2013
  • Summary: Pros: When using this for watching videos or playing video games it's pretty good. It's nice and bright and the HDMI input allowed me to easily plug in my XBox360 to play games. Since the speakers aren't good I easily used a cable to go from the monitor's headphone out to my computer's line-in and...

Subpar text display. Induces eye fatigue

Gary C., Newegg
16 January 2013
  • Summary: Overall, the monitor gets the job done for a low price. However, if you are purchasing for lots of on-screen reading, I would investigate other options.
  • Pros: DISCLAIMER: This review is biased toward using the monitor for on-screen reading for 8-9 hours continuously every day. -bright -decent color reproduction for office work -adequate for viewing under office lighting conditions
  • Cons: -jagged text display -extreme eye fatigue during on-screen reading The display of text is subpar on this monitor. I use 2 of these side by side at work. The majority of what I display is text for on-screen reading. By the end of the work day, it is difficult to focus my eyes. I have compared the ...

Nearly great

Alex T., Newegg
19 December 2012
  • Summary: It's a beautiful monitor for a solid price, but I'd suggest buying a different one. Better yet, buy a monitor at a store so you can take it out of the box and plug it in to be sure there's not much bleed through or any stuck pixels.
  • Pros: Solid value Vivid colors Very bright Good size Speakers aren't bad
  • Cons: Serious bleedthrough around the edges. Not only white-ish bleedthrough on the slides and top, but there's a blu-ish bleedthrough on the bottom. Very noticeable during dark points in games and movies, less so any other time. Very cheap stand. Monitor wobbles with the smallest shake of the table. M...

  • Summary: Not overly impressed. Screen is very blue (even post screen). Spent a long time trying to adjust (with the dumb adjust buttons located on the bottom of the monitor) but one way was too blue the other settings were too something else. No happy medium.

Walmart
22 July 2010
  • Summary: Problem #1 was my own fault. I mis-read the resolution as 1920x1200 but it was only 1920x1080. Problem #2: It is much harder to read anything on it compared to my previous 22" monitor (A Synaps that I also bought at WalMart) Problem #3: When the screen blanks due to the screen saver turning on,...

Adequate for Being the Cheapest 24" Monitor

C. Fenley, Amazon
23 June 2010
  • Summary: I've been using this monitor with its "out of the box" settings for almost a month. The monitor arrived with a single dead red pixel near the center of the screen, which makes it annoying but it is otherwise not a problem. The colors are not great, at least not out of the box.
