Summary: I guess it's great that I was even able to get a replacement. But still, to get something back that looks like a dog has been chewing on it, received in such sloppy packaging... it just boggles me.
Pros: Very pretty. And it's big.
Cons: Did a "fade to white" from bottom to top one day while using it. Returned for RMA in otherwise pristine condition, carefully packed in original retail packaging. Received "replacement" that was beat up, scuffed, and covered in fingerprints and red lint, and packed poorly in bubble wrap.
Cons: You get what you pay for. I bought 2 of these in Feb of 2012. Had to send them both back within2 months to Asus to be fixed as they suddenly stopped working. So guess what I found when I sat down at my desk this evening...yep mine has died again, just over 1 month past the original purchase date....
Summary: Spoke to night manager Dwayne at ASUS to complain about stand issue and was informed there was nothing he could do. Never mind I have been without a monitor for over a month, and now I will have to wait another week or two for the stand.
Pros: Good graphics, easy set up
Cons: Monitor broke (went black) within a week, so had to send it in for repair (I paid shipping). Got the monitor back minus the stand 3 weeks later, so I called ASUS to inquire and was informed that the stand is considered an accessory. So I would have to pay a seperate shipping charge to get stand b...
Summary: I though with all the good reviews, this would be worth taking a chance on. I was wrong. Even after calibrating, colors were all wrong. Either completely washed out, or over saturated. Even for a TN panel, this thing looks horrible. Used multiple computers and cables.
Pros: None. It may have some nice features, but if you can't stand to look at it, then it ultimately is a failure, no?
Cons: Colors are way off. Picture isn't sharp at all. Text looks HORRIBLE.
Cons: Can't stand looking at this monitor with any type of motion. Watching any type of video or even slightly scrolling produces huge amounts of tearing and ghosting. Games are total nightmare. Owned many different monitors, this is the first ASUS and i'm disappointed, but I think it might be a bad on...
Summary: Worked fine under Win XP. Upgraded to Win 7 and monitor is detected only as Generic non-PnP monitor. Max resolution is now 1400x1050 with VGA connection, instead of 1920x1080. ASUS VH242H is not detected. No drivers are available from ASUS.
Summary: This monitor flickered subtly -- it was hard to see except when I displayed something with dark colors, but it was enough to give me an awful headache. I tried to find a better driver, but the ASUS site didn't offer any kind of driver support.
