subtle flickering

  • Summary: This monitor flickered subtly -- it was hard to see except when I displayed something with dark colors, but it was enough to give me an awful headache. I tried to find a better driver, but the ASUS site didn't offer any kind of driver support. Changing settings on my computer didn't make any difference. I tried a similar Dell monitor and it worked great with my computer. So I returned this monitor.

Excellent Monitor... Until it Died a Year Later

  • Summary: This was an excellent monitor, that I used daily for over a year. Great picture, great look, and overall good quality. UNTIL... You may have heard in other reviews about the "flickering gray screen of death". That is exactly what happened to mine, unexpectedly last week. The monitor never moved from my desk, never fell, etc., it just happened randomly while using the computer.

  • Summary: Problem #1 was my own fault. I mis-read the resolution as 1920x1200 but it was only 1920x1080. Problem #2: It is much harder to read anything on it compared to my previous 22" monitor (A Synaps that I also bought at WalMart) Problem #3: When the screen blanks due to the screen saver turning on, about 10% of the time the screen won't show anything when I press a key or move the mouse. I didn't have this problem with any of my previous monitors on the same PC.

Gray Flickering Screen

  • Summary: I bought two of these monitors for a video editing machine. One died yesterday, giving me only a gray flickering screen. I checked the monitor with HDMI cable and on two other computers. The problem is with the monitor. I have had them less than 5 months and one is dead. I see many other reviews that mention bad custopmer service from Asus, a cost to return it and incomplete or poorly vetted repairs when they were sent back to Asus.

Sucks

  • Summary: I got it in 8/09 and after 2 months it restarts by itself. Sometimes it will just not function, power switch does not work etc. I had to unplug the power cord. I called Asus and have to send it back on my dime. This is really bad service.

  • Summary: Well, it was great while it worked, then it up and died after two months. The only option I have is to send it back to Asus to have it repaired, which is what I have opted to do. I have no idea what will be returned to me. Perhaps another one that dies in two months or maybe one that works forever, who knows? But with the hassle of buying a box, packing it up and sending it at my own expense back to ASUS, it's really not worth the hassle.

Excellent picture for 1 month. Then a customer service nightmare.

  • Summary: The monitor had a very nice picture for the month that it was functioning. When it went black suddenly, I was sent into the ASUS Customer Service abyss. All phone calls seemed to send me back to the website... which was useless. I finally managed to get an RMA and sent the monitor back at my cost. After 5 weeks with no email or calls as to the status of the monitor, I finally received my supposedly repaired monitor back. Blacks are red.
