Summary: Good value monitor. There's some noticeable light bleed from the top and bottom of the picture, extending about a cm. It's only noticeable on dark images. There's also a noticeable buzzing sound that comes from the monitor depending on the brightness setting.
Pros: Bought refurbished, arrived with a scratch on the screen. RMA'd it, and got one with no scratch. Now, we've had it for 2 years, and not a single complaint.
Cons: The speakers aren't great, but I didn't really buy it for the speakers. Got it for my wife's computer, and she uses headphones except when she runs across a really funny youtube video; then she says, "watch this!" and pulls out her headphones so I can hear it over the monitor speakers, and for th...
Summary: Been reliable for 5 years with moderate use, a few hours every day. No large complaints.
Pros: +Overall the picture quality is very good for an LCD monitor, given the price I paid back in June 2009 ($170). +It features full 1080p, VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs which was very good for 2009.
Cons: -While the contrast ratio is good for a regular LCD, wish I had waited for an LED LCD monitor. -The picture quality is noticeably better with a DVI cable, rather than a VGA cable. Not sure if this is true of all monitors.
Summary: The inconsistency of the screen isn't noticeable when there's a lot going on, so this is still a good screen, and I'm very satisfied with it.
Pros: Much better than the twelve year old standard monitor that it replaced.
Cons: The monitor washes away at the top of the screen. For example, a solid black background will wash to grey along the top half inch or so. A solid black also washes to blue along the bottom. Other solid colors have trouble maintaining a vertical consistency. Is this common among LCDs?
Summary: I bought 2 of these monitors. I have 1 connected via HDMI and I has a horizontal line that appears whenever I do just about anything, move the mouse, scroll a page. I see that line at the very bottom of my DVI connected monitor too, pulsing off and on as I write this. Not sure what that's about.
Pros: The picture quality of these monitors is outstanding. It's bright, clear, color is incredible. The stand is sturdy and the tilt is super stiff. Has multiple modes for gaming, movies, etc. 2ms response time.
Cons: It does NOT like gaming in full screen at a non native resolution. You get constant jitter on static screens. Doesn't seem to do it while gaming at a lower resolution in full screen. Didn't try windowed mode before switching back to 1920x1080. Something to think about.
Summary: Definitely the best monitor for the price, however, if you can swing the extra bucks, i'd go with a LED monitor to avoid the light bleeding from the edges.
Pros: The monitor produces very sharp images. The built in speakers are way better than any other integrated speakers, however, dont expect too much. Brightness is great. Easily navigated menu.
Cons: The speakers are very quiet. Though the monitor has no flaws while displaying light colored content, when something black/dark is on the screen, you can see some lighting coming through the edges of the screen.
