Summary: The product was not as advertised. It was advertised as (Like New) but it was not even close to being as advertised. It would turn on, but it would not stay on. On the shipping box there was a note that said (Turns on but will not stay on) and that's exactly what it does. I have requested an RMA from the vendor bu have not received any response as of 01-10-13. I bought it from Auction Liquidators in mid-December of 2012 and have requested an RMA 3 times.
Summary: I was impatient and needed a second monitor. Amazon had just raised the price of a comparable samsung so I purchased this one. I think this monitor is primarily designed to be used for entertainment purposes such as games and movies. The settings are just way too bright for general computing use. The controls are extremely difficult to use. It is possible to get the settings good enough for computing use but it will take you a lot of patience.
Summary: I have had this for 8 months now. Before I had an HP W2408H that crapped out way to soon so I decided to go with dual monitor and choose this one. This is not as clear, has no adjustability, and my webcam constantly falls off it because it is thick and awkward on top. I hate the orange power button but don't notice it that often. I am still contemplating getting new monitors because of the low quality of these.
Summary: This is exactly what I needed- a quality medium-sized lcd screen with DVI, VGA, and HDMI inputs. The price is reasonable, and I am thouroughly satisfied. My only complaint is the built-in speakers; they sound terrible. Then again, that's to be expected from internal speakers, and there's a handy-dandy audio out jack to which you can attach a pair of headphones or a better set of speakers.
Summary: It is very bright. I use it for previewing/reviewing HD content that I record on my Canon HV30. It hooks up with a standard HDMI cable. I have successfully used a 25' HDMI cable with my HV30 and it looks great. The monitor also plays the audio coming across the HDMI. It has a digital coaxial and 1/8" inch analog out, so you can send the signal to external audio hardware. For the price this monitor is great.
Summary: for the price you probably can't beat it. it's a nice size monitor w/ solid quality, and a huge upgrade from the 17" CRT i had been using for years. that said, i get a bit of flickering on dark parts of the screen--not noticeable most of the time but it's there, and i wouldn't want to watch films on this, but that's what a TV is for.
Summary: ASUS has always had a reputation for great products and this monitor is no exception. The display is bright, vivid, and clear. Get your input cable (VGA, DVI, or HDMI) and power cable, plug them in, and it's on. It has multiple display modes, all of which you can modify to your tastes (something I haven't done as I'm lazy and lean to having the most versatile settings for any sort of work or gaming I'm doing).
Summary: I bought this becasuse it seemed to be one of the cheaper screens with 1920x ? resolution within the price range. Movies are great on it I'm happy with the color as well although I don't do anything professional with pictures. because of the width it has replaced the 2 17inch monitors I formerly had. Text is not as fine as I am used to but it is still legible at small fonts. No dead pixels worked perfectly out of the box.
