Excellent gaming monitor

Stephen Sykes, Amazon
25 October 2014
  • Summary: I agree with the other positive reviewers, that this is an excellent gaming monitor. I'm running it off an EVGA GTX780 card with DVI input, and installation couldn't have been simpler. I selected the "standard" screen mode with neutral settings and then used the computer's nVidia driver to fine tune the color and performance.

Great gaming monitor

Derek, Amazon
9 October 2014
  • Summary: I got this as a part of my most recent gaming rig, and it took me awhile to warm up to it. I didn't truly appreciate the response time and refresh rate until I went back to using a 60hz 8ms monitor at a buddy's house. The difference is huge if you have a GPU powerful enough to push 144 fps on the games you want to play. It has its flaws.

GREAT PICTURE but...

Nick, B&H Photo
11 July 2014
  • Excerpt: A great panel for gaming. I dont even use my tv anymore for my PS4. Only 3 complaints is that it was missing 2 very important bolts to attack to the base fortunately it was 2 dollar fix at Lowes, the base is a little flimsy and if you want to use this for 3-D veiwing you need to buy a 3-D kit for about $150.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
  • Cons: Poor Adjustability

Nice Monitor Hampered by Stuck Pixel

Dan, B&H Photo
23 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I choose this monitor for it's 144Hz refresh rate for gaming and 3D gaming/movie watching. Personally, color is less important than monitor speed. So far, I've been fairly happy with this monitor. The color is good and the refresh rate matches what I expect. I've watched a few 3D movies and it works great. The price is reasonable for the capabilities that this monitor offers. The only blemish is that there is a stuck red pixel.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast Refresh Rate, Lightweight, Sharp Image
  • Cons: Stuck Pixel

  • Summary: yes truly it is a good monitor, but after seeing hundreds of youtube reviews I have expected more. DOES NOT INCLUDE THE 3D glasses, so I am not taking advantage of 3D Vision yet.

Good monitor

John, Amazon
30 April 2014
  • Summary: I have this monitor for about six weeks it's really good. The colors are crisp and vibrant, it's been a nice upgrade from my previous monitor. Only one minor quirk I have seen is if you have multiple devices connected using different input methods, you can't switch to the other device if you turn the current device off first. For example, I have a PC connected via DVI and a Xbox 360 connected via HDMI.

Awesome job Asus

Josh Correia, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: I play a lot of FPS games on my PC and wanted the 120Hz for smoother picture, and this is a great monitor to get the job done. My only problem is that after about a week; the speaker cable that was shipped with this monitor began to cause a constant buzz sound when sound was being played out of the monitors built in speakers.

Decent all-around gaming monitor.

cryptiq, Amazon

  • Summary: Since I owned both monitors, I'm going to write my review as a comparison between the ASUS VG278HE and the BenQ XL2720T. Ultimately I ended up returning the BenQ and sticking with the ASUS VG278HE and I'm happy with my decision. FYI: I used this website to calibrate the colors for both the BenQ/Asus: h t t p://w w w.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ BenQ Pros: - Biggest advantage with the BenQ was superior contrast for dark colors.

Great for gaming @ 120HZ

Bryan, Amazon
31 December 2013
  • Summary: So everyone was telling me that my Samsung 46" 120hz TV was terrible for PC gameplay. I kept telling them it "LOOKED" awesome and my gameplay was fluid @ 120+ FPS in any game out there. A buddy has this same monitor but in a different state so I could not actually see it in person anywhere. So I took a leap of faith and it paid off!! Running all games @ 120hz with V-Sync on instead of the upward of 140+ fps non-V-Sync is night and day!!
