Excerpt: If you want the fasterst response times and an ultra smooth picture this is for you. If you need high color accuracy it is not. It will need some tweaking to look good out of the box, but there are guides for that. The stand is one of the best out there.
Excerpt: The setup went quickly except when replacing a monitor and you must use dual dvi cable or it spits at you> error error. as far as operating ,it does this well. It is bright and you will have to adjust twice to get it right and not washed out highlites. It has good button placement and is built very well.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Excerpt: Monitor works great and is fast for gaming. It seems a little bit washed out compared to my laptop screen. I have tried to decrease the brightness but still shows. SO the total blacks in gaming show a little grey and not complete black. Not to big a deal for me inplaying games. I notice more in just general use of picture editing.
Summary: This has everything I could have asked for from a monitor I need to play on my Xbox One; and it also gives me the potential to add to my collection and add more monitors (5) to a PC and run something like a Sapphire 7990. If I get rich! Prior to me buying the ASUS I was receiving messages to buy the BenQ type monitors as to where only one person I knew told me to research the ASUS prior to buying anything.
Summary: I play FPS games, so wanted the high refresh rate that made motion so smooth on good old CRTs. This monitor, with the right tools can eliminate motion blur for gaming. See this site for details "[...]". Two complaints with this monitor, one is the colors when in normal operating mode are garish. I need to spend more time in the controls to see if this can be adjusted out. Second, the screen is dim while in strobing mode. This however is well known and to be expected.
Summary: Pros: Monitor is large yet compact and will not take up a lot of space on a desk. The ability to raise and lower the screen vertically with just a push makes going from low/eye level when typing to fully elevated for watching movies farther away really convenient. The very bottom of the monitor is 2'' from the desk when it's fully lowered and 6 7/8'' from the desk when fully raised (just some info I wish knew when buying).
