Summary: Let me start off by saying i do love this monitor. The high refresh rate has given older games a breath of fresh air. The colors are amazing. My main issue lies with ASUS as a company, and probably my hardware.
Summary: There's something odd about the colours with this, and the viewing angle has to be perfect, you need to be slightly lower than centre. The sound sucks on it but nobody that wants a monitor for gaming uses the stock speakers.. and if you do, get a better job.
Uneven back lighting ruins a perfect gaming monitor
3 March 2014
Summary: This monitor is perfect for fast paced FPS. The response is absolutely unbelievable. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is because the spacing of the back lights is absolutely awful. I can't play any dark games on it at all because it is so distracting.
Excerpt: Using this monitor for gaming. It functions as advertised. Had no issues on installation, once I was able to get windows to see the correct driver. It's ok, not great. Will be looking to upgrade in the future.
Summary: I was enticed to try this product by the available framerate. To know that I'm able to get 100 frames out of a game, but unable to see anything higher than 60, I wanted to see what the difference would be. I read reviews that raved about the smoothness in movement.
Summary: I ended up returning this and purchasing an IPS monitor, as I was really disappointed with the picture quality. But,l if you love FPS games and are a hardcore gamer, then this item might be for you.
Summary: I bought this monitor to play video games, and watch videos on. No intention of 3D use. I came from a 20" acer, 1600/900 led 60hz 2ms response (cost 119$), and the first thing I noticed was how wash out and shallow the colors look on this monitor.
Summary: Washed out colors, google this monitor there are VERY in depth reviews about it. Long story short, colors are washed out, doesn't even match up to good quality TN in terms of color accuracy. However, 144hz is where it's at for gaming.
