Summary: I'm really torn on whether to RMA the monitor due to the backlight bleed, everything else is perfect. It's only noticeable with dark screens, you dont get an iota of clue that there's a problem there until the monitor goes black.
Pros: Brightness Very detailed reproduction Sharp Colors Great for gaming Very beautiful screen, no dead pixels on my unit, and no input lag
Cons: Only major fault I see with this monitor they may impact someone's decision is the backlight bleed. It is very noticeable that on the bottom and bottom left of the screen it is much blacker (approx 1/5th the screen) than the rest of the monitor. This is only apparent when the screen is dark (noti...
Summary: I am currently trying to get an Advanced RMA through ASUS, there site is very confusing though, and having trouble. It's late saturday night, so Hopefully someone will read my emails by monday and help me with this.
Pros: 2nd Review, updated, will update again later
Cons: I own 3 of these, one I've owned for about a year, and haven't had any problems. I decided to buy 2 more to go 3D surround, well, I've only had the two for about 3 weeks, and 1 has a red vertical line, and a white horizontal line in a large cross pattern. I just want to say that I am very disappo...
Summary: I love, buy and use everything Asus. No doubt about it, this is a top-notch monitor. And like a lot of people I had little intention of using it for 3D. There's a lot I have to agree with on all the positive reviews, however... 1. The screen on the VG236 is obscenely glossy.
Summary: I picked up a pair of these to replace some older 24" (16x10) LCD monitors. The display is beautiful and crisp, 3D looks great, and the 120hz seems does look better than my old monitors (at least at night).
Summary: It's extremely disappointing that such an expensive monitor doesn't perform well in the setting I wanted to use it in. Only buy this if you can't settle for the slightly lower quality colors of the Acer and you don't play any games at a high enough level to where you'd notice the delay.
Cons: Motion does not look nearly as good as a CRT, even in 120hz mode. There's up to about 20ms input delay on this monitor vs. a CRT, though it may not be noticeable unless you play fast-paced games competitively. This basically makes the monitor worthless for me as far as gaming goes, as I was expec...
Summary: The Asus VG236HE is a pretty decent monitor out of the current 120hz monitors out at the moment. I'm currently going on my third one in the last two months. Waiting on Asus to respond to my RMA request. First one I recived had a bunch of dead pixels and horrid backlight bleeding.
Summary: Nvidia 3D vision: Static picture looks terrific, but motion looks pure. 120Hz (shifted 60Hz for each eye) is not enough for human eye. At fast moving object, eye can’t select pair of images to measure depth, and it generate discomfort feeling.
Pros: Nvidia 3D picture is amaising. Much better then my previouse 800x600x100Hz CRT with shutter glasses.
Cons: Display covered with highly reflective glass. When it is off, you can see yourself like in mirror.
Summary: My 5 year old acer lcd display thats been through 3 moves still works no questions asked.
Pros: -Beautiful display, everything is bright and vivd. -LED backlighting -3D ready
Cons: My first monitor lasted 2 weeks before multiple dead pixels appeared and lines ran horizontally and vertically through the display. Newegg was quick to RMA although I didn't like having to pay 50$ shipping (hawaii) to get a defective item replaced. This new monitor lasted a whole day before red l...
Summary: Reccomend purchasing the 1 year warranty. I'll be contacting them regarding repair/replacement.
Pros: As detalied in the 5 egg reviews, an outstanding monitor for gaming.
Cons: The dead pixel mentioned in DJ's review is present on my monitor as well. This eventually spread after about 3 months, leading to a vertical blue line extending through the dead pixel, and a horizontal white line extending through the dead pixel as well.
