Monitor works fine, but white/blacks aren't as good compared to my other VE278Q monitor

Summary: I have a VE278Q monitor that is two years older than this new VE278H model that I bought. I use dual monitors and my old monitor has (Q model) has noticeably darker blacks and whiter whites, which is really irritating as these are side by side. I can mess with the settings to get it less noticeable but it is still an issue.
Summary: Item arrived quickly and in excellent shape. Setup was easy. I figured out how to navigate the buttons on the front (remote would have been much easier, but I know a remote is not included with this) Sound worked, picture was great from the computer! My problem was that the Picture in Picture was not available for my configuration. I wanted to use the DVI input from my computer and the HDMI to show my DirecTV, however....
Summary: monitor arrived in perfect condition. no dead pixels etc. I deducted two stars because there is no height adjustment on the stand! I am a tall person and in order to get the proper height, i have it sitting on a thick book! At the price of this monitor i feel the stand should be adjustable.....
Summary: Let's get one thing straight first, this monitor has a very nice picture when it's configured properly. Out of the box it has way too much red. It's very bright, and vivid. The contrast is truly amazing. If you're a gamer like myself, and sit about a foot to a foot and a half away from the monitor, this resolution isn't for you. I'm thinking of going back to my 24" because it's very rough on the eyes. This monitor is best viewed 4 to 6 feet away. With that being said.
Product is not as advertised, THIS DOES NOT HAVE Picture in PIcture

Summary: Dont get me wrong this is a great monitor, no dead pixels, 2 HDMI ports, 3.5mm jack (in and out) has everything but the Picture in Picture, If you want that you need to purchase the ASUS VE278Q model instead of the H model, it is $35 more, and it's contrast ratio is only 10,000,000:1 instead of this one which is 50,000,000 to one, so it is better there as well, and this one also has a faster response time, and the Q model does not have near the ports either.
Summary: As I get older my eyes aren't so good so I bought a 27" monitor. I was going to by one with a higher resolution in the end I figured that the 1920x1080 would be alright. Once I set the monitor up I quickly realized I should have spent the money and got the higher resolution. For the money this is a good value.
Summary: I think it's pretty clear from the other reviews that this is a great monitor- I use it with my PS3, Macbook Pro, and even recently hooked up my old GameCube to it with some extra adapters. Colors are great and it's generally an awesome piece of hardware that I enjoy using. However, there is a really annoying problem that seems to be a compatibility issue with Mac OS X, and as far as I can tell there is no current fix for it.
