low quality all around

JPTech, Amazon
26 May 2012
  • Summary: The VE248 is a 1920x1080 flat panel monitor. Its panel is TFT which has bad viewing angles and poor color reproduction as compared to IPS panels. There are also six viewing modes on this monitor: Scenery, Standard, Theater, Game, Night viewing, and sRGB. Each one looks slightly different, but none have good color reproduction or acceptable black levels. The monitor does have HDMI with audio.

Wobbly, short stand made me return it.

Garrius "Garrius", Amazon
18 May 2012
  • Summary: If this monitor had an adequate stand I would have given it four stars. As it was my eyes defaulted to a good 3-4 inches over the top when the stand was fully extended. It also wobbled far too much any time I moved. After a couple hours I got a kink in my neck from looking down at it and increasingly got irritated by the shaking. I thought about mounting it on my wall but there is no way to do that, the stand mounts from the bottom. I decided to return it.

Eh...

Chris, Amazon
21 March 2012
  • Summary: Had the monitor for two weeks, and am now starting to notice some less than exemplary features. First, yes there is ghosting, and no there is no definite fix. You can turn OD off in the menu, but it won't save, meaning once you turn it off or it goes to sleep, it goes right back to being turned on. Also, I don't know if this has been present since I opened it, but I just noticed some bleeding along the bottom edge.

Ghosting, ghosting everywhere

Jared H "Jared H", Amazon
19 September 2011
  • Summary: I bought this hoping the ghosting was minor or that there was a fix for it, because for the price I could deal with it. Turns out, the ghosting was very bad and there was no firmware fix for it. I've since returned it. Picture quality was great when not looking at text (only reason it has 2 stars).

Ghosting Issues as well

SGX, Amazon
12 September 2011
  • Summary: Sent this one back. The ghosting issues are real (Geforce 8800GT GPU) and can be improved by turning off OD mode from the special hardware menu but this resets every time the monitor is turned off or goes to sleep. The stock Splendid display modes were all off in color and none of them looked good right out of the box. Only got a 'decent' color calibration based on someone elses settings that I googled.
