Summary: This was a pretty good monitor out of the box, and the speakers were useless like most people say, and it gave me about 3 months of satisfying use. I even gave it a four star review. But I think I've just changed my mind. When I first got the monitor it was hard to get the color scheme right but I figured I could tolerate a unusually bright picture if I was getting 24 inches of 1080p picture, right?
Summary: Type VE247H into google and one of the suggested completions will be 'ghosting fix'. This monitor uses something called "Overdrive" to make the response time 2ms instead of 5ms. The result is 'inverse ghosting' -- basically, black font on a white background will leave a 'trail.' The only way to fix this is to go into the service menu by holding the power button and menu button (while the monitor is off), then pressing the menu button again (once the monitor is on), and...
Summary: Ordered this monitor to go with my gaming PC. I had switched it on when I first got it to check if it was DOA. Less than a week later, it was set up and within 4hrs of setup, a dead pixel. Naturally, I asked for a replacement and two days later (thanks Amazon), I got another. I turn my PC on and what do I see at the login screen? It's a small error but not even an hour into use and it has a fault. Maybe I was just seriously unlucky.
Summary: Gripes: I'm not that impressed with the colour. The white balance feels a bit yellow, even after messing about with the settings for some time. That was the first thing I noted (and this is comparing it to a cheap HP Windows laptop & a 6 year old Macbook Pro - hardly cutting edge gear). The thing that's really causing me issues seems to be around some kind of inbuilt auto detection for screen utilisation.
Summary: This listing, just like the advertising in most stores and on a sticker which comes with the monitor itself, is INCORRECT as the monitor is NOT an LED monitor but an LED BACKLIT LCD monitor. You get the same old LCD technology without the fluorescent backlighting. There is a significant difference between the two. Overall, the image quality is exactly what you would expect from an LCD display. (That is, it's definitely not an LED).

Excerpt: It would be a dream if not for the only con. 1 dead pixel, left of center. Since there are less than eight, there aren't adequate to send it back according to Newegg's Return Policy and it's placed just annoying sufficient to grab my interest. Want there was some thing I could do. Ran all the tests to make sure it wasn't just stuck. Sad day.
