Summary: This is a great product, which is something I've come to expect from Asus. The things I'm sure you are worried about are picture quality and I'm happy to report that this is one of the best monitors I have used. It's screen is very bright due to being LED backlit (yes, the title says it LED, but it's actually LCD with LED backlighting which looks fantastic, so there's no need to worry about that) and the picture is crystal clear, with no mirroring issues or dead pixels...
Summary: We bought two of these monitors in April for our new office...didn't get them set up until September because desks didn't arrive. By the time we got them out of the box, one worked great; the other wasn't centering, everything was off to the left and it wouldn't adjust. No way to fix it. Amazon wouldn't take it back -- brilliant 30 day return policy -- so we're left to negotiating with ASUS.
Summary: I've had 2 ASUS laptops and was always pleased with the quality of the ASUS products but I had this monitor repacked and on its way back to Amazon within 3 days of receiving it. There was nothing wrong at all with the video portion - it was clear and crisp with a sharp picture - but the audio was abysmal.
Summary: The monitor is just OK. The image is not sharp and clear and the sound is terrible from the internal speakers. I had to get external ones to make it decent. It is pretty though. Aside from that, the monitor malfunctioned three weeks after arriving so i submitted a return and exchange through Amazon on their site. It was relatively easy and most of all they were extremely efficient. They picked up my monitor the next day and delivered the new one the day after that.
Summary: My son purchased this for me when I said I needed a good basic monitor display. I go with 5 stars based on bang for the buck. I used the HDMI connection immediately, so that right away is a plus, having that option. Probably the biggest gripe I would have is the manual is quite cheesy. It takes a bit to figure operations out as far as scroll and enter, for setting things up...but do-able. Speakers exist, did not expect anything great there anyway.
Summary: This monitor is so perfect for the price. I'm spoiled rotten now. I use other people's computers and I just want to cry because they're so small and not as glare resistant. The way Asus makes this screen really does just kill practically all the glare you normally get with screens. It's simple, it's big, and it's cheap. It is the perfect monitor. Oh and it displays games quite brilliantly.
Summary: This is an incredible monitor for an amazing price. My first LED monitor, and next to the old LCD, it outshines as well as outperforms. The contrast is spectacular, and I actually had to turn the brightness down significantly to more closely match my other monitor. The dual DVI/HDMI inputs allow for quick transitions between my dual monitor PC and Xbox. True, it's no 23", but don't fool yourself, 21.5" is plenty of screen for anyone!
Summary: I have used ASUS other products in the past and have been reliable. Have an existing Asus monitor purchased primary for the 16:10 as the primary monitor and bought 228H as the secondary monitor as vertical mount. Primary reason a low score is it unusable viewing angle on vertical oriented viewing.
