Took Longer To Unpack Than To Set-Up

Bob, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I purchased this as a second monitor for a 2012 build Mac Pro. It came with cables for every form of attachment. I used DVI to obtain the max resolution off of the Mac. I plugged it in, configured the ASUS as the primary monitor and relegated the Apple Cinema Display to the secondary monitor. No issues what-so-ever in setting it up. Beautiful display.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up

Best WQHD Monitor for the price

  • Excerpt: Great monitor, once you've calibrated it. Coming from a 24" HD 16x10 monitor without PWM - I was looking for a monitor that allowed more space to open windows and multi-task. The higher resolution is wonderful, allowing me to see an entire webpage while leaving a usable window for photoshop/Excel doc/Word doc running next to it.
  • Pros: All Cables Included, Beautiful Screen, Bright, Color Accuracy, Ergonomic Adjustments, Multi-connections, Price
  • Cons: 1610 To 169, 60hz - Too Low For Some, Needs Color Adjustments, No Built In Usb Hub, One Or Two Stuck Pixels

Asus PB278Q 27" LED LCD Monitor - 16:9 - 5 ms

  • Summary: A bit pricy, but when you normally buy things at a store, you can't beat this price. No Shipping, No Tax. And it's often on sale for $** less then anywhere else. The screen is fantastic. I mostly bought it because of the combination of the amazing resolution and the adjustable stand. Crisp image. No bothering blinking lights. several outputs. and most importantly easy rotation, orientation and repositioning due to the stand it's mounted on.

Excellent Monitor

  • Excerpt: Monitor is used for Desktop Publishing and Flight Simulation. The first monitor I received had some issues with stuck pixels and small cosmetic blemishes on frame. B&H sent a replacement monitor upon requesting an RMA with quick dispatch. The new product is perfect and the B&H customer service exceptional.
  • Pros: Resolution And Quality
  • Cons: None

Great, but a couple dead pixels

KZ, B&H Photo
15 September 2014
  • Excerpt: I would give this a solid 5 star rating but I was unfortunate to receive a unit that has 2 dead pixels/areas. Any time the screen is black due to a black background, it is painfully obvious that there are 2 issues since you can see the glaring 2 red dots on the screen. Other backgrounds it is not as noticeable but I was expecting perfection...to much to ask for? I suppose.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great Resolution, Sharp Graphics
  • Cons: Dead Pixels

Great value, some trade-offs

8 September 2014
  • Excerpt: Good alternative to the Apple Display. Big, bright and accurate color once calibrated. The extra resolution is really great, having been used to 1920x1080 cinema displays for years. The monitor has many connections, but only the displayport will give you the highest rez (2650x1440). All others (dvi, hdmi, etc) will only give you 1920x1080 max, at least on my 2013 MacPro. Having some issues with displayport connection, however.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Powerful, Quiet

Great monitors - but Beware Multiple Versions

PurchasedFTW, Amazon
5 September 2014
  • Summary: Bought two of these and they are very good. There is one issue I want everyone to be aware of. Asus has a newer version of the PB278Q, the PB278QR. This is an upgraded panel of the PB278Q. I recieved one of each, and the color is different as well as the on screen menu and buttons on the monitor itself. Amazon cannot determine if what they ship you is the new version or not, as both were packaged as PB278Q.

Great monitor at a great price

  • Excerpt: I'm using this with my MacBook Pro for video editing with Final Cut Pro X. What a difference! Having the extra real estate on the screen making editing so much faster and efficient. The quality is outstanding. I was on a budget and couldn't afford more expensive monitors but I have zero regrets buying this. A great monitor at a great price.

Worth the money over all the other 27" 1440px options

Spiritual Shooter "Spiritual Shooter", Amazon
2 September 2014
  • Summary: As a previous Apple 27" iMac user, I have an exceptional eye for a good screen. This is nice. I'm a photo/Video editor, so the resolution is needed. Plus I love to edit Headshots in Portrait mode, Simply amazing to work like this. I, like many others, have been waiting for the new apple monitor and wait we shall. Great monitor for the price, not as sharp as the Apple Monitor, but no Glare, so I'll take the trade off any day.
