Excerpt: This is a very nice monitor for the price. Be very careful when submitting a rebate. I've never had a company reject a rebate when submitting a B&H "order details" or confirmation e-mail. (Most companies just need to ensure that you actually purchased the product from a company authorized to offer the rebate.
Summary: Although the latency isn't great, as a designer and photographer, I care more about accuracy than speed. This has good colour right out of the box, which got better when I switched to the sRGB mode. Perhaps due to my viewing angle/distance, rotating for coding made the screen seem almost too big, but that is not exactly a complaint. The included cable tie was a nice touch, which took away some worry when rotating.
Pros: Colour accuracy and built-in sRGB mode; menu system is better than others I've used; accessories/cables; rotation and height adjustment.
Cons: Wiggles when desk is bumped; height adjustment can be tempermental; lack of HDMI cable when all others were included.
Imperfect screen uniformity, but still great bang for the buck

Summary: I originally wrote this as a five-star review just after receiving my monitor, with the caveat that it had one minor flaw - the right side was very slightly brighter than the rest of the panel, easiest to see on grey or white backgrounds (such as 99% of web sites). It took me several days to even notice this and initially I thought it was just me being super nitpicky, but staring at the thing every day for a couple of weeks, it ended up really bothering me.
Pretty Good, Not Perfect - The Best at This Size/Price

Summary: I'm a web & graphic designer with relatively exacting standards for color... I honestly don't give a damn about "accuracy" in regards to print or photography, but I do want something that looks outstanding for my everyday work. My shopping requirements: - Outstanding quality - Under 27" in size - Less than $500 - Relatively lightweight My first attempt was with the lower end ASUS VS series - The weight, size and pricepoint were great - the quality wasn't.
Excerpt: Very good monitor. Great for browsing and photo editing. Wide port selection. Easy tilting and shifting. The non-reflective coating helps a lot. The The only complaint is that it's too bright for prolonged typing/reading and decreasing brightness really hurts the picture quality. Otherwise it's the best bang for the buck.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Vivid Colors
Summary: this monitor is a great value for money. for the longest time i'd considered getting a mac monitor but just could not bring myself to cough up the cash. this is a great way to give myself more screen space while working on my laptop.
excellent screen but built-speakers are waste of time

Summary: Bought after reading lots of reviews. I was excited about getting internal speakers as it saves carrying speakers. I assumed that like Apple, Asus would have thought about how to get the best sound from the placement and that they would perform at least adequately. The speakers do not. I use an apple laptop, and the laptop sound is significantly clearer and less muddied which given the space inside a laptop vs a screen really surprised me.
Summary: I upgraded from two Samsung P2450H Monitors to two ASUS PB238Q Monitors. I had a chance to compare the two brands side by side. The PB238Q's color and contrast are superior. The difference in their corresponding brightness is imperceptible. I can clearly see light bleeding from the background in both lower corners of the PB238Q.
