Excerpt: I also have the previous version the PA238Q so I have a fairly basis to make a comparison. The PA238Q was also the reason I decided to buy the PB238Q. The newer model is much more difficult to adjust to your liking and truth be told, I never succeeded..
Summary: The speakers are rather poor sounding, even on the working one. On the the non-working one, well they don't work. This was evident from the first day I bought it. I only waited this long to write this because I wanted to see if the other one had any problems.
Pros: If the screen works... It has great color and lots of inputs, The ability to turn the monitor portrait is great for reading instructions while working on another monitor.
Cons: I bought 2, one had a defect with the control buttons that made the volume button always depress even when not being pushed. I called ASUS support for warranty work, they wanted me to give them $50 to take a look at it. ASUS, that is the last thing I buy from you
Summary: Strictly from a picture quality standpoint, this is a decent monitor. The image is bright and crisp. Everything else about it is sub-par; the case looks like it's made from recycled plastic, the base is too light and spins instead of staying in place when you rotate the screen, and the buttons are...
Pros: Nice Picture
Cons: Cheap Stand, Buttons Too Small, Feels Light & Flimsy
Summary: The stand and casing of the monitor are great, as they are durable and not overly flashy, unlike some of the other monitors out there. I returned this monitor because of a very prevalent back light bleed in the lower left corner.
Summary: Positive: Beautiful monitor, especially for the price. No dead pixels. The stand is high quality, and every cord I could need was supplied. Negative: The speakers are cheap, and they mysteriously broke on mine.
Summary: I bought the monitor less than a month ago for business and charting use, i chose this monitor for its flexible stand and medium sized screen real estate . Out of the box the screen was too bright and the colors were off, almost as if all the colors had a yellow tint to them, this was easily fixed...
Summary: I received the PB238Q for Christmas after giving my family a few monitors to select from. For whatever reason I never found the PA248Q in my Xmas-list building searches and I really wish I had as its a 1920x1200.
Pros: A great monitor at a good price; great specs. I especially like the side usb ports the fully adjustable height and swivel. Nice and bright.
Cons: I wish I had told my family about the PA248Q which is 1920x1200
