Wonderful Birthday Present

  • Excerpt: I have been putting off getting a better monitor for image editing, spending any extra money on lenses, etc. But last month my wife gave me a nice gift card so I thought I would upgrade my older 22" Dell. I did plety of research on monitors in this price range and based on all the reviews and feature sets chose the ASUS. I'm glad I did. The design, color, and features are beautiful. I really didn't know what I was missing until now.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint, Usb 3 Ports
  • Cons: None

Great Purchase

  • Excerpt: I upgraded to this monitor for viewing and editing photographs. I have several taken in challenging lighting situations and had only seen them on a smallish old monitor and was so disappointed in the pictures I took. Then I saw them on this monitor and everything I wanted was there. This reaffirmed my joy in making the photos I want to make, like this is really possible within my budget. Thank you ASUS!
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance

Great Value for the Money

Richard, B&H Photo
27 August 2014
  • Excerpt: This was a gift for my daughter and her family and will used by them for general computer use with occasional photo editing. When I visit it will be used for heavy editing with Photoshop CC. I am using a monitor at home that cost twice as much a couple of years ago and the Asus is just as good. And, because it uses LED's instead of the older fluorescent back lighting there is no warm-up time.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Everything, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance
  • Cons: None so far

happily impressed

David Bridburg, Amazon

  • Summary: I am a digital artist. This monitor works extremely well out of the box. It most definitely needs to be recalibrated. As an artist you will need to lower the brightness to roughly 80 cd/mm*2. That brightness level is also as low as my unit would go while using the iRite software. The reason to lower the brightness is because monitors project light, while printers produce art that reflects light.

great new monitor

  • Excerpt: I am very pleased with the color rendition and the match with my Epson R2880. It is quite bright - so good in a lighted room. Only annoyance is the problem switching inputs. You have to be in one mode before you can switch to another. I wish I could simply switch to what I have just plugged in.Very easy on the eyes and pleasant for long editing sessions.

Great Monitor

WilburStudios, B&H Photo
10 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I purchased two of these monitors and they're great for both photo and video work. Being able to easily switch between inputs also allows me to have dual monitors on one desktop while also being able to quickly switch my 2nd monitor to my 2nd desktop, or use the picture in picture function, for tasks.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Decent Price, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance

Not for a beginner ? Maybe it is.

  • Excerpt: This monitor is the pivot point in my digital darkroom. I use it exclusively as Iwork on my images with Lightroom and Photoshop - and send them to my printer. I am a retired photography teacher. The factory calibration is a wonderful starting point for a somewhat experienced worker who took advantage of it's qualities.

Good monitor

Chips, B&H Photo
9 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I use the PA249Q primarily for photography. Has excellent colors and seemingly a wide range of tones. Large screen which is more than adequate for my work. When received and plugged in the screen was very, very bright but have adjusted that so it is fine now. I use this in conjunction with a Mac. Suspect Windows users would have a wider range of adjustments but really not sure about that. I would not hesitate to recommend the monitor to others.
