Nice monitor, surprisingly impressed

  • Excerpt: I own a NEC 27" monitor, use it mainly when shooting tethered and when editing my work. Bought this ASUS for a friend, and tested it before. Was surprised by its performance, not quite as good as my NEC, but great value for the money. Only downside for me is that there are only a few color adjustment tools, not enough options for me.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area

Delivers the rich, accurate colors...

  • Summary: This Asus delivers the rich, accurate colors that graphics professionals require and it's jam-packed with features but it has trouble at the dark end of the grayscale, and it's expensive. Pros: + Excellent color accuracy and viewing angles. + Versatile stand. + Generous port selection. Cons: - Pricey. - Mediocre dark grayscale performance. - No auto rotate.

  • Excerpt: Good build and picture quality. I wish it didn't always start up with a 5 second comercial! Does have a loose connection in some of the inputs, forcing me to use others.
  • Pros: Great picture quality
  • Cons: Unreliable performance

The monitor is great, as advertised

donpablo, Amazon
22 January 2015
  • Summary: The monitor is great, as advertised. However, The manufacturer's box was thrown into a box about three times the size of the monitor box. The outside box was damaged and there was so much room in the larger box that the smaller one slid around a lot on its journey. Fortunately, the monitor is working but the packing did not inspire confidence. I almost rejected the delivery.

Great Graphic Design Monitor for Price

Allison, B&H Photo
29 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I am not a professional graphic designer, but I needed a new monitor for a project at work. I noticed immediately the improvement over my previous monitor in terms of color and clarity. I'm putting all my trust in the pre-calibration for color accuracy! Stand is sturdy; adjusting and switching color profiles is super easy and quick. The one issue I have is the high pitched whine that comes from the top of the monitor when on standby.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Preset Color Modes
  • Cons: Noise When On Standby, Very Very Bright

Pay a little more for a lot more quality

  • Excerpt: My CRT was starting to fail so I plugged a low-cost 19 inch flat screen in to my computer. Picture quality was OK, but text was very poor. Reviews of the PA249Q promised high quality images and overall rating higher than monitors with much higher prices. The ratings proved correct. This is, in my opinion, a high quality monitor, although it is not intended as a video game monitor and I don't use it that way.
  • Pros: Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance
  • Cons: Lacks Adjustability

Excellent monitor with one Mac issue.

  • Excerpt: Great monitor! All kinds of great features and flexible setup. Colors are fantastic. The only thing is with a Mac, you'll need another cable not supplied. You'll need a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable/adapter. It would be nice to go direct from Thunderbolt to DisplayPort. Not a big deal but wanted to make sure you knew this.
  • Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
