Summary: I've purchased several of these monitors, mainly for work; there is a high-pitched noise for certain at least for the ones I've worked with. I work as a technical designer in the circuit / components industry in Silicon Valley.
Pros: - beautiful picture - excellent color calibration
Cons: - extremely high pitched noise (can be easily Quantifiable by a noise-measuring dB device) - Asus splash logo displays when powered on and there is no way to disable it. - however, despite these serious problems, the Merits of the display far outweighs the Cons
Summary: Purchased this monitor looking to upgrade my current 16:9 to a 16:10 for some extra screen real estate. Also wanted a wide color gamut for photographic work (hobby). Read many online reviews and narrowed it down to this and the Dell U2413.
Pros: Beautiful Picture Sturdy stand Menu Joystick
Great monitor -- IF it doesn't have a persistent high-pitched tone and you don't get caught in the ninth circle of Asus support

Summary: #donotbuyASUS This monitor is beautiful. Very good colors, very easy to set up and use. Lived up to the reviews. Until ONE MONTH LATER, when the high-pitched tone started. At first, it was for just 5 minutes or so, right after the monitor went idle.
Summary: Too good to be true again? We'll see. I hope this one is better built. The previous PA monitor I have Stopped having an image on the screen after 2 1/2 years. It is a nightmare to figure out how to get the warranty working. I am unable to get to speak or a reply from somebody at Asus.
Pros: Antiglare, initial purchase price, 10 bit support (not "real " 10 bit, but nevertheless, supported), screen proportions. Before my ASUS RT56U expensive modem was hacked due to firmware and my precious ASUS PA246 suddenly stopped working in the same week, I would have said brand. Colors are fairly...
Cons: OSD is very unintuitive and the buttons are not ergonomically for fast selection in semobscurity (these monitors are to be used in low light conditions, radiology PACS workstations, photo - print situations, the buttons should be big and clear to use and have a great tactile feeling ) Company doe...
Summary: I'll reiterate what two other reviewers have said so far: connecting this monitor to a Mac is a crapshoot. Having researched monitors for a while, I so wanted to like this monitor, but when the display flickers off and on, and pretty consistently will then go into a random pixel snow field on the...
Summary: I just purchased this monitor with high hopes, only to have them dashed. The connection issue that others have noted were its undoing. With VGA connection from the mini-display port of an iMac, the picture displayed intermittent waving lines.
Summary: The LCD always looks too bright to read document or write code! And there is no way to tune it to a comfortable brightness. This never happened to me before. I tried to wear an PL sunglasses to make it comfortable for my eyes, and found it was too dark to see anything any thing on the screen!
Summary: For a bit of background, I am a professional graphic designer and I purchased this as a way to build my home office. I'd done a moderate bit of research and the 10-bit panel built into this device seemed exactly what I was looking for.
Summary: Questa mattina il corriere DHL mi consegna il tanto agognato monitor che mi serviva per fini lavorativi....ma le cose non sono andate come dovevano...il monitor era palesemente usato e non nuovo. Io adesso vi chiedo..
