Excerpt: If you're used to a glossy screen, it takes a bit of adjustment to get used to a matte screen. And though I have calibrated the monitor in an attempt to get it to a cutely reflect what I see on my MacBook Pro and vice versa, I've not yet succeeded.
Summary: This could be a 5 egg monitor, great picture and easy to navigate controls, but I'm docking one egg because after less than a year I have two dead pixels in the middle of my screen. Like a smudge of dirt I can't clean off and it's a huge annoyance.
Pros: - 16x10 ratio - USB 3 ports - Best OSD controls I've used, with customizable shortcuts is a nice added touch (I set them to PIP) - Excellent colors - Very sturdy stand, doesn't wobble or shake like many others. - Stays cool (my westinghouse 24" put out a lot of heat)
Cons: - Refresh rate is a little poor for fast-paced FPS games - Warranty on dead pixels is unacceptable
Excerpt: I'm a photographer who's been using a Macbook Pro to edit pics for over ten years. Now that I'm using the Asus, I've noticed my photos to be much more consistent, in terms of style and color, and I'm embarrassed to think of all the clients who I've worked with in the past.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Vivid Colors
Summary: Overall, its actually a great monitor. Its light, easy to adjust, but still feels sturdy. Has the variety of inputs I'd expect. Four USB on the side.
Pros: As a digital artist, I find the color amazing. As a gamer and a 3D animator, I find the display proficient.
Cons: There are better monitors for gaming. Just shy a year of ownership and I found a pixel that is permanently on. Its not covered under their "Zero Bright Dot Warranty." Pretty disappointed as I have old monitors with no pixels defunct and I held Asus to a higher standard.
Excerpt: Monitor comes well calibrated for sRGB out of the box. Cannot tweak the contrast or brightness of this pre-calibrated setting. However you can custom calibrate in several different modes especially with calibration tools. The packaging is bullet proof.
Excerpt: So my 2011 imac screen stated acting up on me and wouldn't let me brighten it past 3 bars without it going black and as a photographer this is unacceptable. I wasn't going to spend $ repairing my screen so I did some research on the PA248Q noticed it had very good reviews.
Excerpt: Product is fine, once I got it working. The "bedsheet" instructions--32 languages--micro print--don't tell you the secret to getting the monitor to read the computer output. The disc just repeated the non-information on the "bedsheet." Hint" double clicking is involved.Oh...the monitor.
Excerpt: Plugged in and started using it with no problem, no dead pixels quality build, tilt/pivoting is a helpful feature for me to read legal documents. Great color balance when watching photos, movie, and web surfing. My eyes feel great even after long hours reading emails from works.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
