Dont Buy... it cuts out even after returning it for a fix.

greg nichols, Amazon
12 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought this for a large photo project I was working on. I received it and it starts to cut out after about 15 minutes. I finished my photo project with the stress of having it cut out randomly... returned it so they could fix or replace. That took a few weeks. When It was returned it still cuts out. So annoying! Even after I sent it in it still cuts out. Looks like the company that is selling them is just trying to get rid on them ASAP. Dont buy!

Terrible flickering problem

Amazon Customer "Cynthia", Amazon
25 September 2013
  • Summary: I bought this product from newegg, but felt obliged to warn other prospective buyers here too. The monitor started off well enough, but then started to develop the flickering (screen goes black for 1-3 seconds) that so many others have complained about after a month or two. It keeps getting worse. Now it's at the point where it flickers so much that it is basically unusable.

Port problems

Dr. Quinton O. Riggins "Old Man", Amazon
24 July 2013
  • Summary: I have had this monitor well over a year now. I loved the color for photo processing. I really loved taking my SD card out of my camera and putting it directly into the reader on the side of the monitor. After a few months, the card reader quit working, so I went back to reading cards off my computer. Well, last night, I had no picture on my monitor. If I turned the monitor off, then on, the screen said no HDMI input. I tried a DVI cable and a standard monitor cable.

I don't know what title to give

TheLyingThief, Amazon
25 May 2013
  • Summary: Maybe that's the problem--no, wait, the problem was, with unit #1, a piece of something trapped under the coating that looked like a check mark in the middle of the screen. That, and a horrible coloration to everything depicted on the screen. The second unit refused my color management devices, and the matte coating was like a brown sand over all my images. Indeed, the rendition of color was only the most obvious part: resolution was hampered by this coating.

Flickering problem not acceptable

FA, Amazon
16 December 2012
  • Summary: When your computer goes to sleep or into idle mode, somehow the monitor looses connection and starts flickering, it takes an amount of troubleshooting to get the image back. I need Asus to replace this monitor, and in all honesty I'm not happy with the performance of this product. I would NOT advise anyone to purchase this item unless Asus fixes the problem.

  • Summary: Owned since dec 2011, it barely survived 10 months. Plenty of hot pixels & the lower left corner was hotter than the rest. I could sorta live with it. Then out of the blue it just didn't turn on. I mailed it to Asus repair within warranty and they refused to work on it. When I asked for a refurb model, they refused. They stopped responding at some point. To top it off, they next dayed my broken monitor back to me.

  • Summary: I owned the PA246 since december 2011 and it barely made survived 10 months. It came with quite a few hot pixels, and the lower left corner was hotter than the rest. I could sorta live with it. And then out of the blue, it just didn't turn on. I mailed it to Asus repair in Fontana, CA, quite within warranty (a supposed 3 years) and they refused to work on it. When I asked them to sell me a discounted refurb model, they refused.

  • Summary: Got this moniter 8 months ago. It was good for the first several months. But.....a black dot on the button right of the screen appeared today. It was not a dead pixel or stuck pixel ! It was a dust particle between the reflection layers !!!! Very anonying and obvious. So, call for repair and exchange???? No way , why?
