Nice screen

Mollie B., Newegg
31 October 2013
  • Summary: Good buy if you want an ips color accurate screen for cheap but don't want to buy one of those reject panels.
  • Pros: Number one pro is the price for what you get. Looks great, colors are good, and stand is the best stock stand i have had the pleasure to use.
  • Cons: I deduct a star for the back light, as others have mentioned its not the best but I haven't had much of a problem with it. You get great quality for the price, but that price is low, and this is its main point of weakness,

Great monitor at a great price

Alberta D., Newegg
21 August 2012
  • Summary: I had been using a 19inch, 4:3, 1280x1024, TN monitor for about 3 or 4 years before upgrading to this unit. It came highly recommended by MaximumPC and that along with the great reviews on Newegg sealed the deal for me.
  • Pros: This is the best midrange monitor you can get! It is fully adjustable in every possible way. Height, swivel, pivot, rotate, it does it all. The stand is very well made and perfectly stable. It has a minimalist look that suites my tastes perfectly. The bezel is very thin and this monitor would wor...
  • Cons: There is a slight amount of backlight bleed but it is hardly noticeable and not nearly enough to detract from the brilliance of this monitor. Some people may like the 16:10, 1920x1200, 24inch version better but not me.

Good bang for the buck monitor

Phillip H., Newegg
6 June 2012
  • Summary: Had a tiny bit of trouble getting the monitor to accept my DVI signal. A reboot helped that. It's worth running some test screens on the monitor when you get it to help you understand what your specific monitor will and won't do.
  • Pros: IPS panel at a good price point. Enjoying the USB hub/ports as well. Plenty of good hookup options, I'm using DVI and it has worked well so far. No whining on lower brightness settings as some others have experienced. Height, tilt, pivot and swivel actions are all smooth and solid. Most adjustabl...
  • Cons: Some light bleed through in the lower left and upper right corners. Only noticeable on black test screens. Similarly, on 40% RGB test screens, kind of an off axis effect in the lower left corner. But haven't seen negative effects in actual use yet. I wouldn't consider these flaws in the general d...

Beautiful, But Not Perfect

Alex Hall, Amazon
18 March 2012
  • Summary: This monitor is mostly great, but it's not without flaws. There are many pros: - First things first: this monitor is stunning. It is really beautiful. The picture quality is astounding and the hardware itself is well designed and aesthetically appealing.

Bleeds

Qi T., Newegg
12 March 2012
  • Pros: Comes with every single cable out of the box. Well packaged, individual color report
  • Cons: SEE THE VIDEO. Left is my ASUS VH238. Right is the bleeding ASUS PA238. Tested by powerpointing a black screen with duplicated displays. Blacks are not dark because of backlight bleeding. My cheap cell phone camera has odd effects as to the actual color of the bleeding (the blacks look grey, not ...

Good if you Overlook Bleeding

Anonymous, Newegg
2 December 2011
  • Summary: If you're patient, I'd probably still recommend waiting for a sale on Dell's Ultrasharp series. If you're lucky enough to get one of these ASUS IPS monitors with low backlight bleed I envy you.
  • Pros: -Excellent Color Reproduction -Great set of options -Truly superb stand -Excellent reproduction of white that reduces eye strain for me. -1 dead pixel on the first unit. 0 dead pixels on the second unit (good packaging in my opinion). -Headphone jack included. Very nice to be able to hook up a ps...
  • Cons: Very bad backlight bleeding on both of the units I was shipped. Concentrations spots at several points on all sides except the bottom. It's very noticeable if sitting at the black title screen when starting a movie in a dark room. The bleed spots along the top of the monitor are noticeable throug...

Very Nice But...

xiaoxu Z., Newegg
3 November 2011
  • Summary: All in all, I like it, but that's not going to prevent me from taking it back if the backlight bleed gets worse.
  • Pros: Excellent features, good adjustability, nice display quality. It is quite bright when you crank up the brightness, and it has a pretty easy to use interface to change your settings.
  • Cons: Backlight Bleed. Not stating anything Earth Shattering there, judging by other reviews. The monitor does seem to have a blue bias to it though. If you look at an angle, it tends to get a bit blue on the corners.

31 July 2012
  • Summary: I have been on the look out for a new screen for ages. This has been well reviewed on the web all to an outstanding reviews. This is no exception, the screen is excellent (without spending +£500) it comes with more cables and connections than you really require and includes a print out of the...

ASUS PA238Q my point of view

Xpert, Amazon
4 July 2012
  • Summary: ASUS PA238Q 4.5 out of 5 This is my first IPS Panel, Guys first of all this is a true 8 Bit IPS Panel and it is P-IPS not the cheap e-IPS 6-bit, ASUS say it is 10bit because of IPS 8 + 2 FRC means dithering is used to produce 10 bit colours better than 8 bit but no way near true 10bit IPS which will...

Great monitor

Electro, Amazon
2 July 2012
  • Summary: This monitor is excellent because of the high quality screen/colours and design. The stand is the best I've ever used with so much flexibility. The USB hub on the side makes it easier to plug in memory sticks and other things.
