Summary: This monitor is mostly great, but it's not without flaws. There are many pros: - First things first: this monitor is stunning. It is really beautiful. The picture quality is astounding and the hardware itself is well designed and aesthetically appealing. - I'm able to play anything at 1980x1080 with at or greater than 60 FPS.
"Very good feature packed photo/Graphics editing monitor"
18 January 2012
Pros: 10 bit IPS Panel All display connections, along with free cables (VGA, DisplayPort, DVI-D, HDMI(Port only, No cable)) USB Hub (4port) Fast response time for an IPS (6ms) Very smooth Height, Swivel, Pivot and Tilt Adjustments Quickfit Easy menus Cost
Cons: Serious Backlight bleeding on almost all monitors (i check 4 and all had it) Little washed out colors Level of color black is not as deep Maybe a card reader??? ;-) :P
Summary: Can't be beaten for the price. No sign of light leakage as other reviewers have mentioned and well packaged. I'm a photographer and I wanted something that would show the greatest detail and render colours accurately. This screen does that. It comes ready calibrated and matches exactly with other devices I have. If I had a niggle it would be the placement of the buttons on the bottom front right: just where you would grab the screen to tilt it or move it up and down.
Summary: but I endorse all of the other complimentary reviews. The monitor is great value for money, Light bleed from the edges is outrageous in "all black", but the colour rendering of images is perfect.
Summary: I have been on the look out for a new screen for ages. This has been well reviewed on the web all to an outstanding reviews. This is no exception, the screen is excellent (without spending +£500) it comes with more cables and connections than you really require and includes a print out of the factory calibration. If you are looking for an upgrade for your old screen, this is an excellent starting point.
Summary: ASUS PA238Q 4.5 out of 5 This is my first IPS Panel, Guys first of all this is a true 8 Bit IPS Panel and it is P-IPS not the cheap e-IPS 6-bit, ASUS say it is 10bit because of IPS 8 + 2 FRC means dithering is used to produce 10 bit colours better than 8 bit but no way near true 10bit IPS which will cost a lot more, but it does produces brilliant colours, so far the best colours I have seen in this range, I am not a gamer so don't know the game effect, now I have had...
Summary: This monitor is excellent because of the high quality screen/colours and design. The stand is the best I've ever used with so much flexibility. The USB hub on the side makes it easier to plug in memory sticks and other things. This product includes DVI, DisplayPort, VGA and USB A-B cables for the hub. A small bug is that if you don't have it at 100% brightness you will hear a high pitched whine. Arrived quickly, overall a great experience. Well done Amazon!
Summary: I got this monitor after reading a great review on techradar. The screen is nice and heavy, and it feels like leather on the caseing. The screen is really good quality, bright sharp and clear from any viewing angle. However, there is considerable light bleeding from the corners/sides. If you watch a video in a darkened room it is VERY noticeable. I will try and post a picture to show it.
Summary: Slightly mislead myself by not knowing that widescreen measurement takes away some of the screen height! I was advised to get a screen bigger for eyesight reason. So my old 18 inch square screen is 11 inch vertical and new 23 inch widescreen is 11.5 inch vertical!!!! But much brighter and adjustable. Also crisp so I am not getting so close and like it very much. In other words all in all a successful purchase. Fantastic delivery speed.
