Excerpt: I, like many others read all the reviews on this monitor, and decided to buy based on specifications as they met my needs. I received my monitor yesterday, read the accompaning documents, plugged it in and turned it on. It is connected to my 2012 Quad core i7 16gb 2.6 fusion drive Mac Mini. Set up was simple, set up sound output, color match RGB on Mac and monitor, set he sound level on the monitor. It took all of 10 minutes from unbox to up and running.
Pros: Easy set up, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance
Big, bright, "frameless", matte screen, and just beautiful. My big problem is now I need 2 more to replace my non-IPS Samsungs

Summary: I recently bought a MX279H to use with a Mac Mini to do graphics work. I have an iMac 27" at home, and my PC at work has 2 27" Samsung S27B550 monitors. I like big, beautiful displays and they're SO much easier to read on these tired old eyes. This is the first IPS LED monitor I've ever owned, but I can already tell you that sitting the Asus next to the Samsungs demonstrates a very real problem. More specifically, the Samsung LEDs are completely terrible by comparison.
Excerpt: Replaced a 7 year old Asus lcd monitor. This bad boy is amazing! Colors are vivid and screen is bright makes colors pop! Have it hooked up to my mid 2013 Mac Mini. The bezel is almost on existent and the monitor is thin. Again B&H delivers with free two day deliver. Highly Recommended!!!
Summary: Let me tell this plain and simple...one of the BEST I mean BEST monitors out there..this thing is a beauty. First of all the design .. Ultrathin bezel, lightweight body and last but not least the matte finishing on the screen. Performance I have tried and used many different monitors and tvs with hight quality pictures and honestly the picture quality of this monitor can be compared to an OLED TV, the colors are deep and crisp, sharp but not too sharp plus the matte...
Excerpt: After doing an incredible amount of research across multiple types of monitors, I finally came to the MX279H 27" and was more than pleased with its qualities and features when it arrived. The monitor does not sacrifice quality while it remains a gorgeous display, aesthetically pleasing and elegant. One notable shortcoming is the audio. I would expect much better results from a collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.
Summary: I've been using this monitor for about 3 months and have been very pleased with every aspect of its performance. It was highly recommended as a gaming monitor on displaylag.com, with a very, very low lag time. In playing "Need for Speed" and "Destiny" on my PS4, as far as I'm concerned, the amount of display lag is imperceptible. The display is beautiful and highly configurable. I have the PS4 connected to one HDMI port, and my desktop computer connected to the other.
Summary: I purchased this monitor September 2014. This review is 4 months later. Design: First, this is likely the most well-designed monitor available for the price. The brushed metal look is sleek and the monitor is a bit thinner than others in its class. The buttons are located on the bottom-right and easily accessible. My only gripe is that they are invisible at night. They aren't backlit, so if you're doing something in pitch black, then you're going to have to fiddle a bit.
I saw some images on a Google search and was in shock at how bad it was

Summary: I will start by saying I was a little skeptical about this product. I did hours upon hours of research, looked at both the pros and cons and decided to hit the complete order button. I saw a lot of people had some issues with some of the back light bleeding through. I saw some images on a Google search and was in shock at how bad it was, the bleed.
Summary: Great image clarity. Having 2 hdmi inputs is great as well. Zero complaints. I use it to connect my MacBook Pro 15", and it's just as good as one of Apple's thunderbolt displays at a fraction of the cost.
Summary: This is such a pretty monitor. The outer design is absolutely stunning, and the picture display is pretty good. I do graphic design work, and can tell that it is not 100% accurate, but it's close enough that it doesn't matter, it's still a whole lot better than my previous display. Gaming is great on it, there is an oh-so minor amount of ghosting so I'd say it works perfectly well for anything but fps games.
