Summary: The monitor looks good, has a good picture and arrived in perfect condition. However, my box arrived with the tape opened and the tape on some of the components broken as well. Someone opened this box up and used this monitor and then put it back in the box. At least, that's what it appears happened. The built-in audio is fed automatically through the DVI-D-to-HDMI adapter right into the monitor.
Pros: This screen has a beautiful picture and the price was right for a quality name brand like Asus. It does have a Kensington lock option to keep the monitor secured (I have no use for that) and it comes with a nice variety of cables.
Cons: No VESA mounting option. This monitor must remain on its' stand. It cannot be mounted on a wall. The monitor looks like the screen goes right to the edge, but Asus cleverly made the frame the same color and blended it with the screen. Even in person, with the monitor off, it appears to have no edge. But when you turn it on, there is an almost 1/2 edge all the way around the screen which appears as a black border. Not the edge-to-edge picture it appears to have as pict...
Summary: No VESA mount is the only big minus to this monitor if you want to mount it (hence the 4-stars instead of 5). Otherwise, it is amazing! Love the large size, very crisp. Buttons are very easy to use. Very glad I bought it.
Summary: So pretty, so nice. I love this screen. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, is it "AUTO" switches to different inputs (I am using HDMI 1 and 2 and VGA). If my laptop dims the screen from inactivity, the darn screen will switch to a different input. Its very annoying. I have found NO way to turn this off...
Pros: Let me first talk about how nice this monitor is, ITS GREAT, very crisp and bright works like a charm!
Cons: Shame on Newegg! First of all the picture of the monitor is INCORRECT the bezel is NOT that tiny... (look at the non-refurbished for actual) This needs to be changed right away! Secondly how it was shipped... They did not cover up that it was a super fancy monitor at all! so on my door step was a 35 inch fancy box facing for the whole neighborhood to know exactly what it was, UNACCEPTABLE! Instead of being cheap I would rather they charge you $5-$10 extra so it can be...
Summary: Great monitor for work and console gaming. Anything bigger would be a bit much for a desk.
Pros: Amazing color, low lag input and low refresh rate. Looks great with my PS4. Also clear enough for work use.
Cons: Not mountable to wall. -1 star for that may be nit picking. I also don't care for the touch sensitive buttons. The symbols are not back lit so if you try to feel for the button to press it sets them all off. Good thing it auto senses and changes inputs automatically.
Summary: Budget brands offer a 27 inch monitors for 75 bucks less, but the reviews, design, and IPS display on the MX279H won me over. It does not disappoint. The image is sharp and vibrant, with no distortion, leakage, or dead pixels. Streaming HBO at 1080P is a pleasure. It's not hyper realistic like some of the higher end TVs, and the blacks are not very black, but it is perfect for extra work space and video streaming. One star reduced for the poor speakers and controls.

Summary: I bought this monitor about two months ago and love the way it looks and all the screen space it gives me. The picture seems to me to be sharp, good color and etc. My only complaint (hence only 4 stars) is that the controls on the bottom of the monitor are difficult both to use and (I must admit) to even understand how they function. The first one, for example, is called Alignment Grid. I don't know what it does (and can't see what difference it makes...
