Summary: I like the nice clean lines provided by the frameless display chassis and the simple yet elegant stand. The audio is good enough to use for music at modest volumes, thereby saving desk space that would otherwise be taken up by accessory speakers. As with all similar monitors having built-in audio, the low frequencies are enhanced by a resonant chamber which can lead to rattles on certain bass notes at higher volumes. This is completely avoidable by reducing the volume.
Summary: Not really edge to edge as advertised as there is a bezel around it and the HDMI connection disables the monitor speakers for anything other than HDMI audio but as far as a monitor it's outstanding. Set up right out of the box and looks great, plenty of real estate and clear as a bell. The menu buttons leave a lot to be desired but once it's set up they aren't needed and the documentation is horrible, recommend you download the actual users guide from the ASUS site.
Summary: Great monitor for the price and colors are great from the PC using the supplied DVI to HDMI cable. I found that the cable was a little short and you may want to purchase a longer one from Amazon. HDMI (xbox 360) colors (blacks) are little faded but still pretty good. happy with my purchase.
Summary: I have given this four stars for four reasons: - It has good color quality - HD quality is really good (tested with 4k videos) - Good sound quality - Two HDMI ports, so I can connect my game console and laptop simultaneously without any issues The only downside is, at $320, I think it is a little expensive for what it offers.
Summary: There's not a USB port on this thing *rolls eyes* It's adequate. The colors are bright, plenty of screen real estate, but I can discern a bit of pixelation from the .31 dot pitch. I wish the resolution was higher, but for a 27" IPS display, its not bad. Now that IPS panels are dropping in price, I wish I would have spent a bit more and got a faster, higher resolution monitor. Oh well, live and learn, right?
A great compromise. Affordable, stylish, functional with usable audio.

Summary: The ASUS MX279H 27" monitor is a nice compromise between affordability and quality. The 1920x1080 resolution is a bit low for a 27" monitor, but displays 1080 video perfectly. Color and response time are adequate. I like the external power supply. I have had several monitors (LG, HP, and Viewsonic) burn out built in power supplies in the past. It's nice to know I can just pop a new one on the machine if need be.
Would have been 5-star, but two major frustration issues which are common to this product. ASUS please read

Summary: As I read reviews here before ordering this particular model, I was aware of the buttons and sound issues. Please read carefully for my experience. I read previous reviews here and believe I don't have a lemon, nor am I being harsh in my critique, and being hopefully fair. Ok, let's go: #1) The "super sensitive" touch buttons located are on the bottom right side of the monitor. They are absolutely terrible and FRUSTRATING.
