Excerpt: This monitor is not unreasonable from a picture quality standpoint, but it suffers from an egregious design flaw. While the package includes both a DVI-to-HDMI cable and a separate audio cable, if you use the HDMI input port it disables the separate audio input. Thus, if your computer does not have HDMI output (presumably with audio) you cannot use DVI unless you are willing to forgo the monitor's built-in speakers.
Excerpt: This monitor is my second monitor in a two monitor set up for developing still photos. It does everything I had hoped for. Although the resolution is not equivalent to the best available, it is very good and a bargain at its current price. It is attractive and easy to set up.
Pros: Adjustable Viewing Angles, Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
Excerpt: Replaced a 7 year old Asus lcd monitor. This bad boy is amazing! Colors are vivid and screen is bright makes colors pop! Have it hooked up to my mid 2013 Mac Mini. The bezel is almost on existent and the monitor is thin. Again B&H delivers with free two day deliver. Highly Recommended!!!
Summary: Let me tell this plain and simple...one of the BEST I mean BEST monitors out there..this thing is a beauty. First of all the design .. Ultrathin bezel, lightweight body and last but not least the matte finishing on the screen. Performance I have tried and used many different monitors and tvs with hight quality pictures and honestly the picture quality of this monitor can be compared to an OLED TV, the colors are deep and crisp, sharp but not too sharp plus the matte...
Excerpt: After doing an incredible amount of research across multiple types of monitors, I finally came to the MX279H 27" and was more than pleased with its qualities and features when it arrived. The monitor does not sacrifice quality while it remains a gorgeous display, aesthetically pleasing and elegant. One notable shortcoming is the audio. I would expect much better results from a collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.
Excerpt: First off, the product design is stunning. The speakers are acceptable but aren't loud enough when jamming out to a song. Volume controls and general menu functions are ok, creative, but not ideal. Display quality is average. I guess I just got used to my Retina display, in comparison it's inferior. Otherwise, it's a great buy for those who want a cinema display for watching movies and surfing the web.
Pros: Great Design Aesthetic, Large Viewing Area, Small Footprint
Summary: I've been using this monitor for about 3 months and have been very pleased with every aspect of its performance. It was highly recommended as a gaming monitor on displaylag.com, with a very, very low lag time. In playing "Need for Speed" and "Destiny" on my PS4, as far as I'm concerned, the amount of display lag is imperceptible. The display is beautiful and highly configurable. I have the PS4 connected to one HDMI port, and my desktop computer connected to the other.
Summary: I purchased this monitor September 2014. This review is 4 months later. Design: First, this is likely the most well-designed monitor available for the price. The brushed metal look is sleek and the monitor is a bit thinner than others in its class. The buttons are located on the bottom-right and easily accessible. My only gripe is that they are invisible at night. They aren't backlit, so if you're doing something in pitch black, then you're going to have to fiddle a bit.
